if Thibs and Layden replaces Shabazz with a smart player, our second unit will be much better. Can we just clone Rush? Such a good player!

I just saw the game.
We had a bad offensive and good defensive game.
Dunn had a bad game. He showed that he is quick and good defender but he didn't play well in offence.
Lavine had a bad game also. Wiggins was not bad but he missed a lot of shoots.
Towns scored some long range shoots as usually but he didn't play in the low post.
Shabbazz and Dieng played bad.
On the other hand Aldrich seems to be a good player. He has size, he is strong and he can protect the rim. I also liked Rush.

Something that is worth to mention is that Dunn and Rubio didn't play a single minute together.
Dunn played in the pg position all his minutes.

Let's see.. I expect a lot more from our players.
Today it is an opportunity for the team to play better basketball than in our first game.

I didnt like moments when ball was in Aldrich hands in offence and and other guys couldnt free themselves. I guess we need more ballhandlers in second unit. It might be logical to use Dunn + Jones combe, rather than Dunn + Shabazz. Dunn looks big enough to guard most of backup SG. I still think that Chalmers could help us.

Isn't Chalmers recovering from ACL injury? he may be quite useless for a while. But I agree on Tyus/Dunn vs Dunn/Bazz thing.

Calinks wrote:Think you guys are reading a little too much into the first pre-season game. Bazz criticisms in particular may be hasty. Thibs can probably refine his offensive tendencies and don't over the look the massive positive his offensive board ball hawking had. Usually I'd rather have a guy I have to rein in a bit over a guy I have to try to fire up.

The problem I see is that in order to be the offensive glass breaker he has been, it may be that Bazz needs to keep on playing his reckless tunnel vision game that ruins the ball movement and spacing. His boards have always come with the cost of him sitting around the basket way too much for a small forward.

I would rather see Jones and Dunn at 1 and 2 and Rush at 3 while Bazz would be the 11th guy who comes in and goes full yolo if things just can't seem to work out for the bench offense.

If he's in the rotation however, I would rather see him sitting in the corner + cutting whilst never being allowed to post up, because every tunnel vision post-up he goes for is a low percentage play that not only hinders the overall offensive efficiency, but also the team chemistry and the spirit of working as a unit.
