Was this the most glorious victory in Wolves history. A do or die demolition of the Defending champs. Let's win the next and make this the 2nd most glorious win in Wolves history. Honestly game 7 against Sacto in 2004 is probably #1, but this is damn close.

Even though the stakes were higher, I actually enjoyed the game 2 win more than this one. Denver was in shambles during that game. Absolutely crumbled

Re: WCS Game 6, Denver at Minnesota, Thursday
Wow I did not expect that.
Absolutely putrid shooting from Denver, but we still probably win by 10-15 with average shooting from Denver.
Smarter double teaming from us, bigs did not overplay the help like they did the previous 3 games.
Doubling with the smalls left only the guards and wings flying around which helped.
Really befuddled a bit by Denver's offensive game plan, they went away from that mid pick game that tore us apart the previous few games.
Murray missed a ton of shots he is normally capable of making tonight.
Our offensive was more assertive and decisive tonight with Mike back, and even though we jacked some bad shots in the first half, we weren't getting the hero ball and late shot clock futility from our role players like Naz and NAW and Kyle that had been killing us in the previous 3 games. We had their Ant doubling by Gordon schemed out better tonight and Jaden being able to make a couple 3's early was huge to opening that up for us.
Very effective games from Rudy, KAT, Naz tonight all with ten+ rebounds and effective rim protection.
KAT played big tonight bodying Jokic and using his size to attack the glass when they switched a small onto him and it was maybe his best game of the playoffs IMHO even though he only took 10 shots.
Getting off to a big early lead was huge for us as it led to Denver hoisting 3's to try to catch up rather than letting Jokic methodically pick us apart in the paint possession by possession like they did when they got ahead in the previous 3 games.
We didn't leave anyone out on an Island tonight to get abused by the MVP like in game 5.
Our entire team played well tonight which was good to see after it seemed like Denver got the same from their guys for 3 games in a row.
How Jaden plays offensively (and is able to stay out of foul trouble) is so key to unlocking the potential of this team.
7 PPG on 38% shooting the first 5 games is absolutely not going to cut it if we want to compete for a title.
We need more games like this from him.
Justin Holiday, Reggie Jackson, Christian Braun 1 for 17 shooting. That is absolutely BRUTAL.
That's not going to happen again.
Luke Garza 8 points on 3 FGA
Denver bench and scrubs 9 points on 27 FGA.
The momentum is back on our side and anything can happen in game 7.
It's going to be really tough on Denver's home court, crowd will be hyped.
But if we get the energy and attention to detail we got in games 1,2, and 6, we have a real good shot at advancing.

Question for y’all, the greatest fans in the world:
Did Finchy and his staff rope-a-dope the Nuggets in Game 5?
GAME 5
-Conley was out. That’s the given. Yet he played in Game 6 and looked alright. It’s almost like he rested during the playoffs.
-We didn’t many calls, especially early. Those charges. The Jaden foul on the Gordon flop at half court. NBA wants 7. Everybody knows it, including our coaches.
-Coaches put Rudy on Jokic 1 on 1 all game, and didn’t double much at all. We saw what happened. Jokic is an all-time great. Enough said.
-KAT is forcing the action on O and it doesn’t look good.
GAME 6
-Conley is back and looking 100%. He balls out. Hmmmmm.
-KAT is guarding Jokic, as he’s done before and KAT. looks good.
-We double Jokic a lot more.
-We get decent refs.
-KAT is now NOT forcing the action.
I dunno. It’s a conspiracy but Finch kinda did that in the last Suns game too—didn’t make any adjustments.
In Game 5, it’s like he made the above “anti-adjustments”, sandbagged. Nuggets couldn’t game plan for our Game 6 at all based on Game 5.
Then in Game 6, we lay out our best game plan and game yet, with Conley there, and the Nuggets look lost.

It was G4 where KAT was trying to do too much on offense and was bit reverting back to old habits. I thought he played fine in G5. Well we did see more Gobert on Jokic in G5 but Jokic also made ridiculously tough shots even for his standards

The stakes are what made this more glorious. It's fine if you enjoyed game 2 of this series more.

Thinking back on the game we fell behind 9-2 and called a time out. We come out of that timeout and hit a 3. What happens if we don't hit that 3. Little things like that can turn everything around.

Sacramento Game 7 definitely still holds the lead (most iconic Timberwolves performance of all time, by Kevin Garnett), but this definitely has a serious argument as #2!

To be honest, I think this game will fade into the shadow of game 7, whatever happens.

I expect we’ll see Ant jumping on a scorers table if we win. He seems very aware of these historic NBA images.

In a sense yes, but without this game there is no game 7. As of this moment this is the 2nd most glorious game in all of Wolves history. When we win game 7 that will be the new most glorious game. This one will fall to 3rd.

It would be just our luck that when he does this he will fall and break his leg.

I don't think Finch intentionally tanked the game.
But I do think there is a strong possibility that when we got down 18, and he saw the way the brand managers were tilting everything towards the nuggets, he decided to keep rolling with what they were doing and save the adjustments for game 6 when Malone would have less time to prepare and he would have a day to prep his team for them.
Had game 5 been an elimination game for instance, there is no way we would have seen Rudy 1 v 1 with Joker the whole game.
I still think he rolls the dice every single time he rolls out a lineup without Mike or Monte or even Jmac on the floor.
They ate into our lead again while Ant sat in the early 2nd, which is why he was a +43 when the pre-scrub time players were a plus 36.

How about only 6 turnovers last night?!

I don’t think I was the only one holding his breath when he laid on the floor so long last night after that vicious fall!

Good point. The way he tossed Game 82, with the coaching staff even saying that we stayed “vanilla” to not show PHX anything in the playoffs, had me suspicious as well. After all, the goal should be to win a playoff series, not a specific game.
