I do.

I am not trading McD for Ja.

Fair. and I think that's the conclusion I come to.

I don't think Naz instead of Jaden does it. And I'm not overly pro Ja.

I only would consider Ja at a pretty serious discount.

To make the money work: Naz, Dillingham, Conley and one of our minimums (Bones, Ingles or Leonard). That would be the most I'd consider.

Okay here's another thought while my mind is on a roll....

What about Ayo Dosunmu, he can run plays, shoot it fairly well and most importantly is a solid defender?

a trade like that wouldn't break the bank.

I'd love to add him. But I don't know why the Bulls would trade him.

He's a major part of their rotation, playing 27 MPG and thriving. And only making 7.5M.

They will have a roster crunch when White comes back, but I'd move Coby before Ayo 10 out of 10 times.

They have a lot of depth at guard position. With Giddy now blossoming, White back soon and potentially carrying on from where he left off last season, they might be tempted for the right price. This would be an awesome addition.

In saying that you are probably right, they sell high on Coby white before he expects another pay day.

I would absolutely look to dump Coby. He's not going to be worth what he demands (and some stupid team gives him) next year.

There is rumors about Ja but I just can't see how Randle, Ant, and Ja could play together. We don't have the assets to get Ja anyway.

He won’t bring Memphis that many assets back, he’s not that valuable anymore, this isn’t 2022 his play and health are declining every season, plus all the gms know he wants out and has questionable behavior off the court.

If we traded Naz for a PG, maybe we could trade Conley for SloMo?

I think Connelly will honor Mike’s unofficial “no trade” request, but Mike might like finishing his career back in Utah. The Jazz are giving Anderson DNP-CDs, and Mike might sell a few tickets for them. Slo-Mo just turned 32, but we could use his passing and defense, and the additional size.

The Jazz are unlikely to waive him, and will use his $9.2 mil expiring as a trade chip. But Mike is a $10.8 expiring trade chip too. I’d only do this if Mike’s decline is imminent, and I’m still hoping he turns it around.

I honestly just have no idea what point guard Naz would even land us? Realistically, with the system or lack thereof that Finch runs, I'm really not sure how much difference it makes. Unless it's a completely different type of tempo setter. The team in general feels like it's missing an identity right now. It certainly isn't defense, it's not really offense, it just seems like some individuals playing basketball on the same team.

I will say this, I do a Ja Morant trade in a second for anyone not named Ant or Jaden. The only conversation needed to be had would be with Edwards to make sure he's good playing with him.

I'd agree with you, the only caveat being that we don't have to send anything beyond players and that we don't create another hole by plugging the PG one.

I'd assume Memphis over Utah as to where he'd like to finish his career but sure.

Other holes are much easier to plug

Mike Conley is a professional who is making more than market-value. Trading him the next season after his extension would have been egregious, but almost two years later, it is not a prohibitive consideration, from my perspective.

I think that the team would try to do right by him, but he is a professional who understands the business. My presumption is that he would find a way to a contender through the waiver wire, if traded to a junk team. Alternatively, finishing his career in Memphis may make sense.

I'd rather have Black than Suggs...

Me too. but, I wonder if Suggs descending contract 35, 32.4, 29.6, 26.8, 26.7 can work for MIN as well. And I like Penda and Bitadze a lot. although not sure if MIN can re-sign Bitazde.

That's what we say every time. Oh we just need an athletic center who can play good defense (Love, Towns era). Oh we just need good 3 and D shooters (Love Rubio era). Oh we just need a good backup PG (past few years).

We just stay with the holes once they are made.

If wolves Trade for Morant they will need a better defender than Naz IMO,

Randle, Conley, pick swap? for Morant
Naz for Herbert Jones and Saddiq Bey
Pick up slowmo?

Morant/DDV/Dillingham
Ant/Clark/Bey
Mcdaniels/Shannon
Jones/Slowmo
Gobert/Beringer

Naz needs to go regardless. Too inconsistent and not just a horrible defender, a non existent defender.

I am a consistent critic of Naz’s defense, but in the event that Julius Randle is traded and Rudy Gobert is still on the team, he doesn’t have to be traded. The problem is that Randle and Reid are incompatible on the court.
