As you said, no FA's are willing to come here, so we must rely on draft picks panning out. It was bad fortune and good luck that we got Towns. And lets wait awhile before we compare A 22 year old Towns to a 30 year old Butler, or a 28 year old Davis. I absolutely think Towns can lead this team, role players make a huge difference, so if we keep a decent bench why not? You be honest, do you really want to wait for the "Godfather offer" draft picks to become elite? Lets stay inside the box, and build on Towns and Wiggins considering they actually want to be here.

DeMaryius Thomas just traded to the Texans. Butler’s good friend. Jimmy to the Rockets!

According to me it is the best package we could accept

Towns Whiteside could be nice

Why? We need picks, Okogie is the future at the 2 and I want someone taller like Wigs or a younger prospect through the draft @ the 3

Sure you "listen" to offers with no intent on trading him because you won't get good value back.
But if you start to shop him, all bets are off.

If he can bring last nights effort on a more consistent basis it'd be a mistake to trade KAT

I fully expect them to make another offer. They are literally going nowhere this season without a star. It helps that there are multiple teams interested in Butler's services.

Yep. Rockets are getting abused too. Let that trade value shoot up baby!

https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/2018/10/30/stein-wolves-brass-in-strong-agreement-about-not-trading-jimmy-butler-to-rockets/

I’m not hugely surprised that the Wolves resisted Houston’s trade offer last week of four future first-round picks for Butler, along with the contracts of Brandon Knight and Marquess Chriss. The stated reason was that the Rockets’ latest proposal features zero players who can help Minnesota immediately, but the biggest factor was presumably this: Minnesota’s owner, Glen Taylor, and Coach Tom Thibodeau are in strong agreement about not wanting to surrender Butler to the Rockets and set them up with a third elite player alongside James Harden and Chris Paul.

If Sixers FO are smart, they might have realized that Simmons and Fultz cannot co-exist at all...this is the perfect time to trade for Fultz...both Simmons and Fultz suck at shooting and it's hurting Sixers offense big time

Things will be getting heated very soon in L.A.. I would love to see us work that team over in order to land Ingram, Ball, Hart or Kouzma in a trade for Jimmy.....no, not all four. If we could somehow wheel Ball and Ingram plus fill for Jimmy.

3 team trade idea...

T-Wolves out: Butler, Teague, 2nd round.
T-Wolves in: Ball, Ingram, Tyson Chandler

Suns out: Richaun Holmes, Tyson Chandler, Bucks 1rst
Suns in: Teague, Zubac, Mykhailuk

Lakers out: Ball, Ingram, Zubac, Mykhailuk
Lakers in: Butler, Holmes, Bucks 1rst, Wolves 2nd

Lakers can start
Rondo,
Pope, Hart
Butler, Kouzma
James, Holmes
McGee

That makes King James happy, and that might be what it will soon come to.

Suns land a starting PG for only Chandler, Holmes and the Bucks 1rst

The Wolves end up amazing. (this is probably too homerish of a trade, unless Jimmy keeps playing the way he has.)

Ball, Rose
Wiggins, Okogie
Ingram, Tolliver
Towns, Gibson
Chandler, Dieng

that should compete in the West.

There are a number of teams who are under-performing their expectations so far this season. I could see any of the Rockets, Heat, Sixers, Lakers, or Wizards getting more serious in pursuing a Butler trade. Hopefully this will lead to better offers and a decent deal can be worked out in the fairly near future.

Heat's package look like a poopoo platter. What Winslow, Jrich are supposed to be enticing pieces? More guys who command cap space that don't deserve it

Rocket's package look like crap too unless they put Capella in it. Eric Gordon is a horrible piece to add to this squad, especially cuz we got Wiggins and Okogie.

I'm looking hard at Boston, who would really benefit from consolidating useful pieces for Butler. Butler and Irving wanted to play together so there's that.

Terry Rozier is an intriguing piece because we know Teague isn't a long-term option to pair with Okogie and KAT. Jaylen Brown's slow start out of gate may be enough to pry him away from the Celtics for Butler if he is willing to give Celtics a long term guarantee along with Irving. Give them Rose or Tyus and Tolliver so they have someone who can score off the bench.

Irving/Hayward/Butler/Tatum/Horford with Tyus/Smart/Tolliver/Morris/Baynes

Then offer Wiggins to rockets for Gordon and a 1st rounder and salary dumps because Okogie looks like the real deal here. Since DAntoni and rockets don't give a dam about defense, Wiggins might be a good fit there with CP3 and Harden

Rozier/Okogie/Brown/Gibson/KAT, but all this is wishful thinking

Yeah him and Okogie look similar so Wolves might struggle to score, wish Patton wasn't done so he could help the lineup. Really want Rozier though, I think he's got a bright future ahead of him if he was given a starting spot.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
