I think KAT is really close to his 3rd team all NBA. Tonight 33-23 probably helps him.

20+ rebounds. Kevin Love who?
Wouldn't it be nice if he starts November playing this strong next season?

KAT, RoCo, a healthy Teague, an improved Okogie and Saric and a great draft pick. Here come the Wolves.

When players were healthy we were pretty good. I very honestly believe we have enough talent to compete.

To compete for the playoffs? Absolutely.
To compete for WC finals? Only if other teams lose their important players.
This team, even if fully healthy is a 2nd round exit team at best.

Building a title contender doesn't happen overnight.

Of course not. But the current team and unless a major roster overhaul happens and/or we strike gold in the draft, their ceiling is the 2nd round. But that's absolutely fine in my book, as long as there's a clear plan and some upside.

Karl-Anthony Towns is 23 years old. There's upside.

2nd round exit would be the 2nd most successful team in franchise history, I'll gladly take that for next seasonBasti wrote:KGdaBom wrote:Streakers33 wrote:

If we make playoff and keep growing as team then it would be much easier to attract FAs, find role players, find decent players from waivers etc. With Thibs we got into playoffs but we completely failed to build any type of team identity.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is some upside. But you need stars in the NBA and we have one, perhaps even one that turns into a two way superstar. But to compete with the big dogs, you need more than one (super) star and role players.

So would I. Don't get me wrong. I was just pointing out that this current team, even after a summer of roster moves, will not be able to compete for a title. Unless something really drastic and unexpected happens.

Thank heavens we have some realistic people around here. The Wolves with KG made the playoffs 8 seasons in a row and if not for a Sam Cassell injury would have been NBA champs. I would love to return to those times.

So it only takes 1 to 2 special players to get that far, that often? Then next year the team should have a chance to get there. Last I checked we have a Maxed possible superMaxed Towns going hog wild lately and a former MVP as a 6th man at our disposal. Time to start believing and keep the good ones around.

But I highly doubt that in a top heavy league such as the one we've gotten used to in the last 5+ years, a KG plus Cassel type of player would be enough to win a chip these days.

Not in the West. But you could go decently far in the East I'd bet.

I'll share a recent PM I was served.
Now he actually crossed the line. Before he was just annoying with his constant negativity

Re: **The Official Karl-Anthony Towns Thread**
Fair enough. That was a big mistake on my part which I can only apologise for as I am not a mod on this board and what I wrote in the comment box was far from being professional. Again, I apologise for that. I also asked Howard Mass (the admin in charge) to remove the warning. But let's not discuss it any further in this thread as it derails the topic. If you'd like to discuss it further, feel free to PM me.
Anyway, I barely post these days as I can't catch many live games any more so I essentially only watch some of the games they've won. But I can tell you one thing, I am not a pessimistic fan. Otherwise I wouldn't have been here for almost 15 years (damn... how time flies). I see the positives this squad has, for example KAT's emergence as a more matured player who you can run an offence through, and as especially the Miami Heat game in December or January showed, who is legit capable of willing the team to win. Or that how well they played as a team before the injuries started to mount. But as I've stressed here in the last few posts of mine, we should be realistic. I was just trying to argue, or rather clarify, the point that this team could compete if healthy.

Re: **The Official Karl-Anthony Towns Thread**
The Timberwolves are 4-10 in games Towns has played since the break. But they are 4-3 when he scores at least 30 points and 0-7 when he doesn’t.
