Apparently Celtics and Bucks talked about Middleton for #3 + a contract?

I would offer anything outside of Towns, Wiggins, LaVine, and Ricky for Middleton. I'd even take on Monroe.

Tyus is a better PG than Dunn.

Yes he is.

Ball security is something Jones give you. Its also something Dunn is dreadful at. While Tyus's shooting percentages weren't stellar last year, he didnt play much. But Basketball Jones is a shooter. IMO, Jones will end up being a plus defender eventually., hes just so active on the floor, hes a scrapper

I'd have no problem letting Zach go for Khris Middleton, but I can't see why the Bucks would do it.

I'd also be OK with LaVine + 5 in exchange for Middleton + 10. KM is the perfect kind of player for this team, in a certain way a bigger and already developed Zach LaVine with defense, and at #10 we could still go for one of the PFs available (at least one or two of Ellenson, Sabonis, Labissiere and Chriss will be there) or another wing like Luwawu or Valentine to back up both Middleton and Wiggins.

Chad Ford floating the idea out there that the Lakers may try to pick up another top 5 pick for D'Angelo Russell. Interesting. I like him, but I don't love him.

Pluses: he could play both guard positions and potentially help with 3pt shooting

Minuses: Would have to be happy with a Manu Ginobili super 6th man type role long term. We already have too many guys needing shots in the starting line-up. Seems immature. Also, no defense.

This makes sense for the Wolves. And maybe the Lakers. (Deangelo probably wont be an all star other then maybe once or twice in his career.) But if he can improve just enough back to his college stats, its enough for the Wolves to thrive. If Buddy Hield is there, I think you keep the pick and choose Buddy. If not, you make the swap if the Lakers will, and pencil in Russell as your shooting guard, not point guard. Then you can dump the headcase Zach Lavine. I fail to see how this impacts Rubio. Russell's assist to turnover ratio last year was pretty bad, so just don't play him much as a point guard. Russell's a shooter, always will be. There isnt a another player in the draft besides Hield that can shoot the 3 as well. Not Murray either IN THE PROS, hes too limited by his own slow feet.

There are rumors Thibs might make a trade, but who you gonna get that you can afford? One that might make sense is Evan Fourier, but hes probably a 10 plus million a year or more guy, and i dont think the wolves can afford him long term.

I'd be curious to know whether the Bucks are targeting Dunn or Murray, because the odds are that one of those guys should make it to 5.

I'm starting to flip flop between Murray and Hield. Coin flip for me.

One offers combo guard potential, the other doesn't.

This. I would take Murray rather easily. Neither are defenders, but Murray has the advantage in age and fit.

Welsch also apparently said that Bender was horrible in workouts overseas and will not be going to the Celtics if they keep the 3.

The Suns are still in the way.

Yeah, everyone has the Suns taking Chriss but I finally found what the mocks said the last time he had a top 5 pick, and NOT ONE had them taking Len at 5, and most had him as being available.

So you're saying the Suns will draft Jakob Poeltl?

Takingbaconback wrote:I think the 3 for Okafor makes a lot of sense for both sides. Kinda feel like Philly is going to balk on the deal cuz they dont want to trade Okafor to their division rival especially with Embiid's health and Noel's questionable development. I wouldn't blame them, Okafor seems like the guy who would drop 40 on them every time they played and **** on them every time he got the chance.

Okafor is way more talented than anybody at #3. He's not a great defender (not as bad as people make it out to be) but he put up 17 and 7 as a rookie. We don't even know if guys like Dunn and Bender will put up those numbers in 3 years and Okafor has already done that. I understand they'll have a huge log jam if they keep him and he had that off court incident there but I think they need to get way more value to give him up than just #3. At least try to get #3 plus the other first round picks and even then, I'd still consider that a steal for the Celtics.

Dunn is my favorite after Bender but if he is gone then it really increases the chances that we take Bender if available. I'd be sort of bummed if they went #3 and #4 though.

This is a poor draft.

I feel Bender will be there and we'll pass. Ford said sources have told him Bender has been eliminated from consideration by us. That very well could be misinformation though.

I think Hield has a chance to guard and with Murray I am more dubious.

One offers length to improve his defensive impact, the other one doesn't.

So you're saying the Suns will draft Jakob Poeltl?

Not sure if serious but I think they want teams to think they are more interested in someone else than who they will takè and they need a PF.

Uh, what? Since when is a hardworking, good kid that donates a ton of time and money to local charities a headcase? The guy lives in the gym and has only said nice things. What the hell are you talking about?

Right now I think the Celtics take Dunn with no. 3 regardless of whether they have a trade or not by that time. They can still look to trade him later and teams like the Sixers, Lakers, Kings or Bucks will still be interested unless they make other moves to improve their PG spot.
