Another 'outside the box' half-brained idea of mine.

Pistons trade us Josh Smith + #8 pick + 2016 1st for Love.

Pistons could then trade Monroe for an upgrade at PG (Rondo?) or the wing. They might be pretty good with Love, Drummond, and whatever they can get for Monroe.

Smith moves back to his natural position where he is an ideal fit with Pek and Rubio. Wolves would still have #8 and #13 picks to improve their wing depth.

Wow, the Pistons would absolutely love that trade. They would do anything to get rid of Josh Smith. And they get Love back in return? That would be beyond a dream trade for them.

What about Sacramento ? Cousins / Love.

7th Pick + B.Mclemore + R.Gay ? For Love and Budinger maybe.

Of course they would risk Love walking away after 1 year...

I agree cause I can't see Love re-signing with Detroit

Absolutely hate to lose Love but if he doesn't want to be a T-Wolve and we can get someone like Klay Thompson (which I doubt) and some high first round picks then I don't think we have much of a choice. :(

Not that I think Flip can pull that scenario off by the way.

About every team does. But Pistons would just love to get Smith off the team so it would be worth it. Josh Smith is just terrible. He takes tons of bad shots and thinks he is a shooter when he is terrible from 3 and mid range. He is most effective driving to the hoop, but he doesn't do it. He can't post up. He has a TERRIBLE contract, one the Pistons would love to get rid of. He doesn't play hard. He is everything that is the opposite of a winner.

Stan Van Gundy taking over the team would love to get rid of these type of players, and probably clear the whole team basically. So if you want him, they would be more than happy to oblige. They would love to get rid of Jennings as well.

K.LOVE + C.BREWER + CHICAGO BULLS
J.BUTLER + T.GIBSON + DUNLEAVY + 16TH + 19TH – MINESOTA TIMBERWOLVES

A.AFFALO - MINESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
JJ.BAREA + 16TH PICK + 1 OR 2 2ºROUND PICKS – ORLANDO MAGIC

Rubio - (19th pick) - A.Shved
A.Affalo - K.Martin - C.Budinger
J.Butler - S.Muhammad - Dunleavy
T.Gibson - (13th pick) - Mbah a Moute
Pekovic - Dieng - Turiaf

My only doubt is if Orland would accepted that or not .

I'm not as down on him as you. He was asked to play out of position and given the green light to hoist up 3's last year. I think if you move him back to PF he'll be back to his old self.

That almost makes it sound like he was forced to take bad shots and make bad decisions. Perhaps they drugged him prior to the games to lower his bball IQ. The Wolves would be idiots to make this trade with the Pistons.

Well he did play next to Jennings. In a way he was forced to shoot whenever he got the ball. Otherwise, he was just going to watch Jennings jack up another 10 shots per game.

Speaking as the only Hawks fan on here...no. God no. You want nothing to do with Josh Smith. You see that empty beer can nearby? That has more basketball IQ than Josh does. He will literally do nothing but chuck long twos or three point shots in between constantly calling for the ball or refusing to pass the ball to the PG to run the offense.

I don't want anything to do with Josh Smith other than keeping him out of a Hawks and Wolves jersey.

You can't be serious. Why would Atlanta give up Horford and only bring back Asik?

I can see it isn't just other teams fans bringing in crazy one sided trades to this thread.

Maybe Harden for Love + some protected future 1st round pick

Thoughts?

Then the Rockets would have a logjam in the front court and need an SG back. I'm thinking something like:

Asik + cash to Atl
Shabazz + Hummel + Shved + Minny pick + cash to Atl
Millsap to Min
Harden to Min
Love and KMart to Hou
DMC to Hou

I doubt the Rockets would consider the 1st trade, let alone the 2nd. If the Hawks would trade Milsap for Asik straight up, the Rockets would just keep Milsap for themselves.

Same goes for the other proposed ATL/HOU/MIN trade. If all it really takes to land Horford is Asik, Jones, and filler, Houston keeps him for themselves. I saw some suggested to cut Houston out of that deal, but the Hawks would never trade there best player for a rental and I doubt Love would want to his position to Center. Because without Horford he's the closest thing to a 5 the Hawks have on their entire roster.

Both deal aren't very likely at all.

What was the entire discussion? No one remembers. I don't remember "ganging up" on anyone.

Edit: Just found the discussion.

You start off posting stupid stuff like this

Love is gone for sure, so why not get something for him ?

Rubio is good, fun... but has his flaws and he hates being in Minnesota ... he will also go 1st chance he get's to leave (especially if team is not title contender).

You really think you should get an apology for posting this crap?

Especially when you consider this as "ganging up" on you.

Its the parts where you say they don't want to be here. Sure they could leave, thats always a possibility, but to say that both hate it here without any evidence will get the crazy comment label.

The only way I would eat crow, is if both players come out and say they hate Minnesota.

Josh Smith is not as bad as people make out. People seem to forget he led the league in defensive win-shares one year and was consistently near the top prior to last year. Also its not as if he has been on horrible teams/stat padding - he has been to the playoffs 6 times. Lastly, he is an underrated passer averaging 3.2 for his career, so its not as if he is a blackhole.

Having said all that, he is getting paid a ton, has diminishing athletic ability, poor outside shooter and questionable work ethic. I wouldn't say he is particularly lazy but he certainly needs a strong leader (which Minny does not have).

I actually think a Josh Smith/Pekovic front court would be pretty solid. The problem is the 2 and 3 would need to be lights out shooters to make up for lack of range. I also certainly wouldn't trade Love for Smith (although would Martin and scrub contracts like Barea).

Well Love is gone ? Or u just don't want to believe that yet. And he didn't even wait until his contract expire to make that known. Many of you thought he will stay and that you should build around KLove. I on the other hand didn't, and thought that we should trade him and I think wolves would get more if they trade him sooner. Also they would have better concept of what team should've looked.

Discution started with Love, but ok Rubio is gone (90% also), that part is not realised yet but so far me 1 all you guys 0. ;-)
We will see how RR saga will end.

Just to clarife I love both guys, just thing that it won't work out eventually.

I love to see RR wants to be this team leader, and maybe he will sign with wolves... But that will happen imo only if he doesn't have great seasons in the future.

And you don't need to apologyse just say that I wasn't that crazy when I told that Love isn't happy and wolves should trade him.

Or don't whatever.

On behalf of Blazer fans, I can tell you Wolves fans that we feel your pain. Get ready to have Bulls fans trying to pawn off this crappy package for Love all.... summer.... long. That's what they did all last summer with Aldridge and it looks like they're picking up right where they left off.

it will die down. Bulls arent as good of trade partners as others. And if a Love (or a star from some other team) came out and said he wanted to go to portland me thinks portland fans would be all up in this mess. As is stars rarely ever say that.

I think this happens with every team. Right now teams are trying to rip Thibs away from us. It's annoying... I understand, but you can't blame fans for being excited.

In a Love trade, Minnesota would want at least one HIGH (top5-7) draft pick and/or a young (under 25) all-star (or very near all-star) level player. This obviously doesn't fit the bill, and is not a good offer.
