His shot is impressive for 6'10" guy. Never understood what happened with him this year, he has so much talent, but failed hard. Mentality? Immaturity? He looks like Jon Isaac based on physical tools, but as skillset he is more Rashard Lewis type of offensive minded player.

Lewis is a blast from the past.

I actually like him more than Poku. I think he's got a simpler development path to stardom in terms of skill. The issues are, as you mentioned, his mentality and immaturity. He was so bad he got benched in college. That rarely happens, especially in this 1 and done era where coaches don't want to put out a bad image for recruiting.

But if you believe in your team's development program he could wind up being a huge steal. I don't see why he couldn't be MPJ in a few years.

I don't know anything about him. So you are saying he got benched, but he had this one and done plan so he just stayed with it? Did he get benched for playing badly or outside events?

So from what I understand there were attitude problems. I think the coach said something along the lines of "conduct detrimental to the team" but even in games you could see him getting visibly frustrated when he didn't get the ball or things weren't going his way. And not just hanging his head or whining to the referees but getting pissed off at his teammates. It wasn't a good look.

But IIRC there were some similar concerns with Reid last year which was partly why he went undrafted. So there's precedent for us to help guys mature. But also, guys like that can overcome it especially when they've been humbled by going from a top 10 HS recruit to getting drafted far later than that sort of ranking would have projected.

Yes I suppose going undrafted completely when he talks about himself in the top tier of the draft like I think he did in the clip might be a real eye opener. That's kind of why I was wondering why he would declare when he could spend one more year trying to correct whatever went wrong. Maybe he will need that slip and wake up call. It's too bad though because this draft thing is a doosy to players career. It almost doesn't matter how good he becomes, it will have to be allstar good to overrule the past draft history. Like Jimmy B Carnage, he'll have to fight for it.

Big points he brought up were play making, shot selection, and shot mechanics... so does that mean Ball isn't the #1?

If Hayes can defend SG/PG, he should be #1 pick

Well, he has advanced footwork, excellent FT% and his shot is not broken. Chances are high. I think defense is what might separate Ball, Edwards and Hayes. Right now they all look like below average defenders to me.

You have your right to be wrong. The very strong majority of "The Experts" believe he can not only play there, but play there well.

Okoro, Green, Saddiq Bey are 3&D prospects we should be interested the most.

I, too, am interested in Green.

3P%: .361 (2.8 3PA)
FT%: .780 (3.6 FTA)

Dane Moore gives his thoughts on Green (starts at 31:55):

I really wish they'd have the balls (heh) to have these guys guarded by others with actual size, going full speed in these drills.

What is the benefit of going so slow and shooting over slow ass short coaches? Besides making them look better that is.

If I were a franchise, I'd tell them to keep their workout videos, and only send stuff if they're playing at game speed and against size/length (that is actually defending). Otherwise, it's just patty cake bs.

It's like judging a fighter based on their shadow boxing skills.

For anyone that hasn't seen it.

"I think I'm a great shooter. I feel like every shot I take is going in, so that's pretty much where the shot selection comes in. Confidence real high."

This was in response to footage of him taking a terrible pull up 3 point shot with 17 on the shot clock from almost half court and missing it badly.

This might be the worst walking speed workout clip I've seen with 30 different looking stances, leg kicks, hitches, mini hops and whatever else you want to call what he's doing while shooting. At that speed you would think he could work on movement he can repeat. Can't wait to see him in games shooting the game clock off the stand.
