This was heartbreaking news. I really liked Flip. Like KG, he's who comes to mind when I think of the Wolves. He will be missed. The Saunders family and loved ones are in my prayers. My condolences to his friends, players, the Wolves organization and fanbase.

Just as I was watching the replay of the last pre-season game thinking that the real season can't start soon enough the news hit me. ****. ****. ****. This really hits hard.

Thank you for all the great memories, Flip. If only you could see the product that you assembled in action. Although I really am not religious I'm hoping there's a place like heaven where he can watch his team from.

R.I.P. you great man! Thank you for everything you've done for this franchise and us fans.

Still cant believe it. Im just glad he spent his remaining time with his beloved Minnesota. God probably gave him one last hurrah to do what he loves and saved the team. I teared up when I saw KG's photo. Man cant believe it

I am truly shocked and saddened by this, and my deepest sympathies to his family. He really injected energy back into this franchise and was the face of Minnesota basketball. He will be missed by many.

Just heard about the news. I was aware of his sickness. Just didn't realize the prognosis was this bad. Flip Saunders meant a lot to the Wolves organization and I'm sure more than anything he wanted the Timberwolves to be successful as they can get. Instead of drowning in this personal tragedy, turn this moment into a triumph. Flip is no longer suffering and he's in a better place where he is free of sickness and death. Use this season as a motivation to play in the right direction for a better change so the Wolves can experience success. Use this season as motivation to play to the best of their abilities to and for each other. Use this season as motivation to come together in times of dire circumstances and challenging trials. Use this season as motivation to uplift the memory of Flip Saunders.

Wow, that was pretty impressive. Just shows how much Flip touched others. I always thought it was cool how he did little things like let coaches come in and watch his work outs or scrimmages. Like inviting Malone to travel with the team for a bit, stuff like that, always helping other coaches out. It was great.

Very sad. RIP. I hope the team can pay respect to him in some small way throughout the season, maybe a patch on the jersey or something like that.

You have to think the players will be motivated this season, especially for the Saunders family, Timberwolves org and KG.

I don't expect many (if any) games where there is no effort

I wonder how much the team knew in the past couple weeks. Hopefully Flip was able to see the last preseason game.

I feel comfortable at least, that the people closest to Flip, the ones that have been with him for years upon years: Sam, Milt, KG, and his son Ryan will all carry on what he was doing here.
