Edwards or whoever we want most could easily be gone by pick 2. Taking a second round pick to trade down is idiocy.

There has been no steam about teams moving up for Edwards. It's literally been all about Ball or Wiseman.

And if Edwards is chosen by the Warriors, then Rosas can flip Ball for more assets.[/quote]
The point is a second round pick even an early one is close to worthless. You don't give up #1 overall to add a 2nd round pick. And whoever we want could be gone at pick 1 or 2 if we trade down. Doesn't matter who it is.

Every mock I look at has Tyrell Terry available at pick 17 for the Wolves if we want him. All the more reason to NOT DRAFT BALL #1.

I kind of wonder if there is a strong correlation between a draft picks success and if they already have a brother in the nba.

I mean you have two draft picks who post identical everything. Ones last name is curry and the other is named joe nobody. Who would you pick? This is a very simple generalization obviously but I would assume curry would be picked right?

And I dont know who to draft since all the sources I get my info and rumors from dont know either. But honestly at this point part of me just wants to say idk at all... just draft ball.

I know how much you like Wiseman but I think he's a cinch to go to GS. I'd be surprised if we didn't take Edwards. At least we'll find out soon enough.

I think the Harden to Philly rumors could have some influence on the Wolves draft decision. I can see the Rockets going full rebuild and being willing to send Simmons to a third team for young assets and future picks. In that scenario, I think Ball would be the guy with the most trade value to Houston which leads me to believe he will be the Wolves pick in the draft (with the intention of including him in a star level trade that happens sooner rather than later).

I could easily see Achiuwa here at #17. I like him for us. I'd love to somehow move up to get the great shooter Nesmith too.

Not a lock for success, but doesn't hurt.

Would Philly trade Simmons for Harden? Seems like they’re trying to get him integrated into the team. And if they are willing, would Houston prefer Simmons or a package centered around the #1 pick?

Heck, they may prefer whatever NJ offers up.

Wiseman is a cinch to go to GS if we don't pick him or trade the pick. In other words not a cinch at all.

If you buy into the best athlete in the draft and good 3 point shooting he could easily be gone by 17.

I like Terry too but at #17 Precious Achiuwa looks really good as a nice fit at PF. I like Nesmith too.

I have a hard time believing the Nets have the assets to make a competitive offer for Harden. I also don't see how Philly could find enough value for Harden without one of Simmons or Embiid going out.

Whether the Rockets would prefer Simmons or package of younger assets is a good question. I don't see Houston getting a lot of additional assets in a Simmons-Harden swap, so the Rockets would have to believe they could be competitive with what they have (I'm doubtful that they would be more than a borderline playoff team).

The latest from Givony and ESPN. They change their mind as often as I change my daughter's diapers.

Wolves Now Expected To Select Anthony Edwards If They Stay At No. 1

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Today 11:05 am

Last week, ESPN reported most NBA teams were working under the assumption the Minnesota Timberwolves would select LaMelo Ball if they kept top overall pick. The sense most teams are now getting with the draft two days away, per ESPN, are the Wolves will select Anthony Edwards.

The Wolves have sent strong signals of interest for Edwards, Ball and also James Wiseman, perhaps in an attempt to trade the ick.

Ball and Wiseman would have some positional overlap with Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell.
