He is basically a non factor about half the time, sure he takes care of the ball, still loses you games because he isn't consistently going to pick up the slack for anyone. This is why he is a 2/3 string. But if you feel I am ignoring stats... Memphis is right there with me.

Way to make that deep dive in .. two minutes?

People that are unwilling to challenge their own preconceived ideas are always going to be stuck.

I don't have a problem challenging my thinking and I don't accuse you of such things even when you don't want to address that Memphis understands what I am saying and why they reduce his role for periods. You are of the belief Memphis and myself are wrong and that he wins you games if you played him through those funks, that is okay, but it isn't a reflection of what practices are implemented by his team.

Any way, without shipping out players, we have cap space to sign Jalen Smith and Isaiah Hartenstein? Also, Amir Coffey is an RFA, is that sign and trade material or just outbid them?

I wouldn't think so. It's possible we could split the MLE between Smith/Hartenstein I guess, I think Smith will get the full MLE from someone, Hartenstein probably the tax MLE.

Literally just reading and acknowledging the fact that wow, I remember the old days of Rube Chat and see so many familiar usernames.

Jalen Smith is just awful defensively which is why he couldn't get on the floor in PHX. He obviously has some offensive game, but Minnesota has enough scorers that he doesn't fill a need.

Oh yeah for sure, but he's still really young and athletic. Someone will pay him and let him make mistakes for them though.

I am guessing Bamba is going to cost a lot, more than Mitchell Robinson

Bamba & Robinson would be great on this team..it's actually crazy that Bamba shot 38% on 3s on 4 attempts while having one of the biggest wingspans in the NBA.

I think he can be a star on a different team.

yes

he doesn't have an offensive game (just stands in corner taking open 3s, moves the ball) so no worry about that falling off as he gets older

he's pretty legendary workout animal so I would have less concern about his age than 90% of players

Myles Turner is decent comp, Bamba isn't as mobile or quick, but 20 ft wingspan makes up for that

Pelicans should be going all out for Bamba, and I say that as a big J Val fan

I would get him for sure. Exactly what we need. Wanted him he was about to leave Rockets a while back, but consensus take was he was "finished". Then he plays key role in champions Bucks and follows that by being the best defender for conference finalist Heat.

If our focus is being as ready for post season as possible, he's exactly who we should target, unless we can do better, which I doubt.

I expect Tucker to only consider teams that have some shot at a championship. The Wolves are still a ways away from being in that category.

I wonder what type of contract extension is seeking PJ Washington? Our full MLE 44/4 is too weak offer, but what about sign and trade 52-64/4? Is he worth it?

#1 target should be Jalen Smith.
