1. I’m so happy the deal is for 5 and not 8
2. Connelly has been really good at finding young talent. Gupta is good at putting them on cheap deals. The way to turn that into profit is to churn. Consolidate those young players into better players and future picks through trades.
3. If ARod and Lore want to take big swings, I wonder if they will encourage Connelly to make trades for riskier players with higher ceilings? Which players fit that description? Jonathan Isaac? MPJ?

This will be very interesting. Given what Lore speaks about in terms of getting the right personnel in place and the lack of pressure to make moves that Gupta seemingly faced, I'm hopeful this won't be the case and they'll meddle as little as possible.
Perhaps they'll be more willing to pay the luxury tax or may find themselves more involved in the courting process over potential stars though. I'd imagine that getting the 'tour' or the 'pitch' from Lore and A-Rod would be a lot more impressive than simply getting one from the POBO or Glen Taylor.

Depends on how much they love lasagna.

Personally I'd be all about the lasagna

The lasagna would be very influential on any decision I make.

@minimus I know, Denver scout mr. Rafał Juć from Poland.
He was the youngest scout in the NBA.
Wow, thanks! This guy has been really good talent evaluator!

If it’s double Italian sausage lasagna, I’m all in.

And don’t cheap out on the cheese. At least use ricotta.

If it’s not Ricotta, it isn’t lasagna.

Also lasagna is the best. From childhood hospital time to work retreats now, any time they ask me to write down your favourite food, I write lasagna lol.

shangrila wrote:The interesting thing to me is the main complaint against Tim is how he's missed on things. "Oh he shouldn't have given MPJ that contract" or "how'd he draft Mudiay and Lydons if he's such a draft expert".
And yet, that same criteria isn't widely applied to anyone else. Go through that (unrealistic) target list we had;
Riley - Gave up 2 1sts for Dragic, routinely overpays players (Duncan Robinson, Dion Waiters, James Johnson).
Ujiri - Just gave up a 1st for Thad Young, have you seen their bench this past season?, and drafted Flynn over Bane
Presti - Guy had plenty of misses for a supposed "draft expert". Anyone remember BJ Mullins? DJ White? Yeah, don't blame you, not to mention the whole Harden thing.
And hell, even Gupta has his flaws; his decision not to address our rebounding issues was a huge reason behind why we lost to Memphis, and letting guys like Layman and Okogie expire without doing anything with their contracts was a wasted opportunity.
The point of this isn't to take shots at the guys above but to point out that it's the aggregate that matters far more than the individual moves. And TC, in the aggregate, built a contender.

Riley gave Whiteside, Waiters and JJ contracts. I can even imagine worst example of player evaluation based on what they try to sell as of MIA hustle culture.
