Ant reminds me a lot of Donovan Mitchell- if he has the ball he's shooting regardless of its a good shot or not. Hero ball- boo.

I think once KAT and Rudy have played a a couple months together they will be great. They had flashed tonight.

Is Jaden McDaniels the guy you wouldn't trade us for Rudy? Kinda wish you had. Loved what I saw from him.

In my personal opinion I think it was going to be mcdaniels and 1 maybe 2 unprotected firsts…or no mcdaniels and you get 4

There are not too many nights the team can have Towns/Edwards go 6-27 (3-14 on 3s) and still get a win.

D Lo was pretty good as well.

His bad play in the 3rd is why OKC got going though.

Full team has practiced together for a week so figured there’d be some issues. Against another team likely a loss. That said and maybe it’s drinking the KoolAid, but my biggest concerns were how KAT and Rudy would fit and if Jaden would be able to fill his role. On the first part it was uneven but there was some really nice stretches (KAT passing first half as part of it..think it will work out soon enough. On the 2nd that was better than I hoped. Ant had moments and DLo finished strong so think that works out soon. Probably should be 500 first 14 games but I saw enough to say I’m not worried even if end result was not impressive.

Ant missing point blank at the rim is not because he is adjusting to Rudy. Nor is KAT missing 3s when Rudy is on the bench. KAT was timid for most of the game, taking 10 total shots, and a bunch of those were hero ball shots, like a double contested mid range toss up. KAT’s issues seem much more related to his current weight and recent illness than they do Rudy. Ant kept trying to shoot his way out of slump and didn’t even think to pass to wide open MCD, Nowell, Anderson, and others. When both those guys meltdown it is a bad night. Thankfully Rudy and MCD picked them up.

Dlo was okay at times and bad at times. I don’t think he was helpful during the meltdown, but neither would JMAC or any other PG. End of the day, when Ant won’t move the ball and cannot hit his shots he needs to be benched until he remembers he has teammates. KAT has the opposite problem. He needs to get his mojo back. He needs to be okay taking the shot and have the wisdom to know when to make the pass.

I am sorry, but Rudy didn’t make KAT miss open 3s, or Ant miss open layups. KAT shot 2 shots in the first half. Finch has work to do.

Towns isn't in his normal spots. Edwards is still getting used to Gobert's screening style, Vando and Towns screen differently. It affects things.

Again, KAT missed a lot of uncontested 3s. Ant missed a lot of open layups. That just isn’t okay.

Hey! It happens! We were cold all night.

So I was looking at the box score by halves. Pro tip, set it to 1st half and pretend the 2nd half is a bad dream.

All of us might have hoped for a little more dominance against a bad team. But it's still a win and that's a good thing. Just look at the Nuggets...

Gotta say it - I could see Gobert becoming my favorite Wolf! And great to see McDaniels do so well too!

Jazz fan here.

I grew up with Stockton/Malone, and I can honestly say Rudy is my favorite Jazz player ever. Minnesota got a really special player in that deal. As long as he stays healthy, that will go down as a great trade for the Wolves.

I'm really curious if there are still Minny fans who are mad about it? If there are, they will all come around sooner than later. I'm really hoping to see you guys playing for a title this year. Gobert deserves to make a lot of people eat crow.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

Aaaaarrrrrroooooo!!! 1-0! Bought league pass for the first time this season just so I can watch all wolves game.
Rudy definitely saved this game. Might be my favorite wolf this season, definitely creeping up my all time favorite wolves list.
Jaden played a hell of a game from guarding SGA to scoring and having a career high FTAs.
Loved KAT's passing, he should listen to his own words, he played a good game and not a great game. It's time for him to be great.
Ant's in a slump, he should be out of it soon enough

I know it'll take time for the guys to gel in, but once they start clicking, league better be ready.

I think people are reading too much into one game, especially opening game of the season and the team hasn't played much together. Wolves had a really poor shooting night and still won..the team will take some time to gel. That's why I am glad that Wolves have a relatively easier schedule to open the season

Opportunities:

-Box out! Find your man without taking your eye off the ball. Use your back and arms to “feel” your man. Long rebounds were sailing over our heads while we were literally turned around. Keep your eye on the ball! Should be easy to fix.

-When McDaniels sits, we need to key in on stopping dribble drives from the best player(s). SGA killed us during McD’s rest. Ant was not keyed in and had some sleepy failures (he also had a couple nice stops early on SGA—he just lost focus during that putrid stretch).

-More KAT driving and Gobert in the dunker spot. This play is money! Oop city.

I don't think there are many currently. When I first saw the deal, my first thought was that we gave up too much for too many years. We have definitely taken a risk, but have decided I would rather have my front office make bold plays for very good players that have a decent chance of being successful rather than continually trying to build and develop organically.

Agreed, but my biggest preference for the Wolves is doing the same thing in the last game they did in this first game. WIN!.

OKC's best player is SGA. SGA went ballistic against us. What's up with that?
