Lets compare, D-Lo, Jaylen Nowell and Malik Beasley roles, that allowed MIN offense to succeed.
1) DLo: slow, methodical as playmaker, loves midrange, loves pull-up 3s, heat checks, does not attack rim, could not find rhythm with Gobert, Towns and Edwards. His defense was partially mitigated by making him a roamer
2) Malik Beaskey: shot a lot of threes by running without ball, could not defend/rebound, black hole in offense, non existent defense
3) Jaylen Nowell: elite touch from midrange, his shot completely abonded him once Gobert came here, bad defender.
4) Shake Milton: methodical, slow, does not want to take pull up 3s, no defense.
So it looks like all three had opportunities to grow, or fit better in role as 6th man, secondary ballhandler, off ball scorer. Dillingham can fit in all three roles and I think his defense will grow by playing within good team defense. Just like Naz Reid from horrible defender grew into average defender.
