I was reading online trying to figure out the exact shotstick vs shooting button dynamic and people are saying if you use the shooting button, you have to get a perfect release to ensure a make, otherwise going to be relying on stats, which makes sense b/c I've had a hell of a time getting a perfect release. But if you use shotstick, you can make more buckets w/o a perfect release as long as your stick is going directly down. But what I don't get is does it literally have to be exactly on w/ the shotstick? I've been at the free throw line and even when I'm looking directly at the shotstick, I'm usually at least a couple degrees off. So if I'm 1 degree off, am I getting penalized? If so, I might as well stick w/ the shooting button.

Also, always going down no matter how I'm oriented to the rim is completely counter-intuitive to me. I always feel like I should be angling the shot stick depending on my orientation to the rim.

Yea I dont the shot stick. I did in the old days but once they put the dribble moves on the same stick I thought there was too much room to mess up so I started using the button. I don't really take jump shots as I am a big who just crashes the glass, gets dunks, and hits inside layups mostly. I will have to practice shooting more.

Sounds like I made the right decision in not going for 2k17

i like it much more than 2k16. it seems more fluid, the advanced rotations are great, the shooting is smoother and they improved the controls on layups.

The game has it's issues but it knocks 2k16 out of the park in my opinion.

The MyLeague/MyGM mode has plenty of new additions and little tweaks that make it a lot more interesting and immersive than 2k16's modes. As far as the shooting, I don't feel like I struggle too much, and I also play with the shooting sliders down further than usual as I find that FG% is a bit too high for both teams if I don't (been doing that on all the 2K games for a few years now).

I like the game a lot, but I'm still confused by the shot stick. I spent a whole game figuring it out and was doing really well, then the next game all of a sudden I'm off like 20 degrees and I could've swore I was right on the money. And layups - forget about it. Trying to time that is a nightmare for me. I'm focused on the defense, it really throws me off to try and look at the shot meter. Funny thing is, I never had problems making shots in close until I turned the shot feedback on, now it seems like I'm missing more shots inside.

And what's up with Thibs' coach rating? I realized yesterday they had him rated C- in offense and a C in defense. He's like a below average coach to them.

that's loopy - do coach ratings change over time? If I go 82 - 0, will his rating go up?

They have a potential rating and can grow to get better over time just like players. I don't know if its based off of perfroamcne though. Also 2K tends to retire coaches after 20 years or so regardles of their head coaching experience or tenure. After one or two seasons in 2K16 Mike Malone retired. Thibs could retireon you after a season or two, not sure if you can stop that from happening as with playes you can delay retirement for a year.

It's no Live'97 that's for sure.

Really good Xbox One Black Friday deal. The time between Black Friday and maybe December 10th or so will be the best time to get deals on gaming related items and TV's. I'm hoping to find some kind of PS4 Pro deal.

Also, best all star game stat line ever? XD

Just pulled the trigger to get a PS4 Pro for 40 bucks off. Around black Friday I hope to get a cheap 300 dollar 4K HDTV and I am freaking set. Been using the same 720P tv for about 7 years now.

At first I was sceptical, hated the interface, the comic look and the missing editor, but now I'd say it's pretty good. I still like Civ4 more, but 6 is not far behind.

I like Civic system, leaders' design and animations and Sean Bean. Thats about it as of now. AI is very bipolar and as stupid as ever at times, technology progression is completely stupid, you can speed run to submarines before researching cavalry and stuff. Got to be honest, I don't like the game, I am going back to civ V, I think its a better game.
Big disappointment this year so far. I never picked beyond earth because everyone was saying its just a washed up version of V, but everyone was praising VI like its a masterpiece, so I bought the hype.

Still really want to get this game but right now I'm trying to concentrate on beating a bunch of games I got on the ps4. I do anticipate I'll be getting it within the next 2 weeks. The new setup has me skeptical as well. Does it slow down the gameplay when you're a lot further into the game?
