Wolves still have the Bi-Annual exception available to sign Beverley. That equates to $4.1M for a full season (we are currently around $6.8M under the luxury tax line).

I hope Beverley chooses us over the Clippers. LAC traded all their PG’s, so plenty of opportunity for Pat there.

LAC is welcome to Westbrook after he’s bought out.

This is significant, and also a major piece of cutting salary by dealing Russell for only Conley and NAW. Now you can probably add Beverley into the equations. Chess, not checkers.

Would be good for the Wolves to do a last-minute move of Rivers or Knight.

I hope you’re right! It would be great to be the preferred free agent destination for once! LAC has everything for Pat.

One more reason to love Pat!

In theory the Wolves could Waive Knight and keep him on a two-way contract (dumping Matt Ryan).

I'd love Pat Bev back here but don't know if it would happen. Pat Bev, Connely, Jmac seems like a good PG rotation. We got a couple of older guys but they are smart and can play some defense. Next year I would love to have a young, capable, defensive PG starting for us.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

But they saved enough in the DLo deal to break even if they waived a player, and they have a little room under the lux to offer Pat some money.

I still think it’s unlikely. National sources say LAC might try to bring in Westbrook, but I think Beverley is more likely. And think from Pat’s perspective, he doesn’t even have to move out of his house in sunny California to finish the season in LAC. They have stars, they have playoff equity, and they have an owner who regularly overpays on contracts. I know Bev likes MIN, but the Clippers opportunity is a much better fit.

Lot of conflicting reports.

This from Dane Moore.

According to Dane Moore, Patrick Beverley is expected to reunite with the Timberwolves after he secured a buyout from the Magic.
Beverley is headed to Orlando in exchange for Mo Bamba, and his timeline clearly doesn't mesh with that of the Magic. The expectation is that he'll agree to a buyout, opening the door for a return to Minnesota. The Timberwolves acquired Mike Conley on Wednesday, but there's definitely room for Beverley to help out a team that has sorely missed him after last season's run to the playoffs.

It seems like all the dust has settled and the Wolves made one Trade Russell for Conley and NAW. Then waived Forbes.

Jon Krawczynski seems unconvinced, Jace Frederick has stated he doesn't expect it, and Marc Stein said that Minnesota is "not expected to pursue a reunion with Patrick Beverly." If it happens, cool, but I wouldn't expect it.

Dane just said it opens the door, meaning it creates the possibility. Doesn't seem he's reporting on any likelihood, unfortunately. He (and I) jumped the gun.

That would be the Twolves thing to do. Derrick Williams 2.0.
