Fran Vazquez's with Regal Barcelona ends this summer and for months the Spanish center has had an offer to re-sign on the table. Club sources say it's a very good offer, one that would allow Vazquez to retire with the team.

The player and his agent are waiting for an offer of the Orlando Magic.

Would Orlando be willing to go even further beyond the lux in order to grab a unproven player?

I was on the Alec Burks bandwagon right away once I looked at possible targets for us. Glad he's getting some attention. :D

I live near Boulder, Co. I've seen burks twice this year already live.

Pretty solid player, I'd like him in that 8-12 range. Decent shooter, very good athlete, needs work on D. Has that NBA look, good wirey body, once he fills out could be pretty sweet.

^Thing I like most is that he gets to the line a lot. We have nobody that really does that now, so that would help us out a lot.

agreed he is a nice player, and one of his strengths is getting to that line, very impressive at that. I like him just not where we will likely be picking.

Can't pass up on talents like irving, p jones, t jones, sullinger,Barnes, donatas, valancuinas, kanter etc to take him.

However if we win some games here and pick a bit later, sure why not, he's a talent, I really like Burks.

I like Burks too but I think he's a bit of a project at this point. He doesn't have great handles and is still a little skinny to do the things he does in college in the NBA.

After seeing him a bunch as I live out here, I actually think his handles are very good, he is very comfortable with the ball, and slashes a ton, hence all the free throw attempts he gets. I've seen him make a lot of good passes too.

His bigger issues are defense, 3 pt shot, and even mid range game.

I didn't say they weren't good, but the few times I've seen him I've just got the feeling that right now his handles are only college good. Although I'll take your word for it if you've seen him a lot.

The point I was trying to make though was that I don't think he'd be able to come in and do the things he does in college. He won't come in his first season and average 8-10 FTAs a game, and will probably take a few seasons to develop.

Oh yeah, I agree with that but if we do get the Memphis pick this year then he may be a target, or we could just use that Memphis pick and the Utah pick to snag him.

This is who I want in next years draft. Assuming are 1st pick is top 3, 2nd around 14 and 3rd 26
1.3- Harrison Barnes- Obviously not living up to the hype but out of the top 3 he is by far the fest option, and still plenty of potential

1.14- Derrick Williams - Having a fantastic year shooting the ball well. He's a pf but I believe he could play small forward also.

1.26- Lucas Noguiera- Don't know much about him other than the has great potential on the defense of end. And I don't think he would come over right away
APkrawczynski Jon Krawczynski
Durant just said Darko is one of best centers in the league. For once, I'm not being sarcastic in a tweet. #Twolves

I really hope they don't get that Memphis pick. It'd just be so much better having a pick the year after with a stronger draft, especially with trade assets like Flynn to move up with. Although if they did get it I'd rather do another Webster-style trade, maybe for Varejao.

But for fun, looking at the current records they'd get the Utah pick at 27 and their own at 3. Which sucks, but if everyone from the express mock declares I'd take Barnes at 3 for obvious reasons. At 27 it gets tougher, although I'd probably go with Aaric Murray or Kenneth Faried. I don't see these staying here though and our pick will probably get higher as Utah's gets lower, so by the end of the year it'll probably be 5th and 22nd.

If they trade Gortat and/or Bass maybe.

I've been reading updates on Irving and it's frustrating because there are no real updates. I won't be a happy camper if he decides to declare in 2012. Even if we don't have a chance at drafting him, at least a prospect could fall into our laps that we might have otherwise not been able to draft.

I think Doron Lamb is a guy we should definately keep in eye on with one of our later picks. Seems like his skill set could help us.

What's the general consensus on Perry Jones? I've seen him a few times now and he reminds me alot of Anthony Randolph when he was at LSU. Both are about 6"11" with great length, are tremendous athletes with unreal handles for players their size and can make the 12 to 15 foot jumper. Jones seems to have a pretty decent feel for the game too. He's a twig though. He's going to get pushed around alot if he plays PF next year. Could he possibly play SF and transition to PF as he gains some weight, ala Garnett?

I keep waiting at least one player to look like a sure fire future all star but I'm not sure there is one in college this year. Irving looked like he was making his case pre-injury but who knows what's going to happen with him now.

New article up on Jonas Valanciunas on Draft Express

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jon ... unas-5622/

If Kyrie Irving is not available and Jonas still projects high by the end of the year, I think he is exactly the type of player we need, A long, athletic defensive big who plays with energy and finishes around the rim.

Besides these two guys, Im really not terribly excited about the rest of the draft prospects because they all seem to be SF and PFs, a position that we simply dont need. Now, I know its bad to draft for need, but as long as they are in the same talent tier, i have no problems drafting need.
