He has nothing special in his game and I think it was a mistake to draft him as number one pick.
If he could not score more than 10 points in college how can he score more points in nba?
Okafor is a way better player. There is no comparison for me. Okafor is very talented and very strong. In my opinion he can definetly be like dunkan or even better.

Okafor? He's a big tub of lard, and you're in the wrong forum, go flaunt that BS in Philly :P

Towns was awesome in his 1st SL game. I'm glad he made me eat my words. Guy flirted with a double double with 12 points (on an efficient 4/10 FG) and 9 fouls. Also had an out-of-this-world 3 rebs in 32 minutes of action which was what we should expect for our 6'11 Center and #1 pick. Passing is his best skill as evidenced by his 4 asts. Was offset by 4 turnovers though.

Key words...first summer league game.

Seriously though, he showed flashes this game. His passing is really exceptional and I hope we make him a key facilitator of our offense.

My opinion is to trade him as long as people think he is the best player of the draft.
In my opinion it was a draft with many bad selections. How could Stanley Johnson go to 8 or Justice Winslow to 10? I mean they deserved to be selected in the first picks.
My favorite player of this draft was Porzingis

Preach brother. We really should have tried to dangle the #1 pick to the Knicks for the # 4 (Porzingis) and make them give up a first round pick. Knicks may have been desperate enough to do that. Calipari has really packaged Towns well and hoodwinked almost all "analysts" in thinking he was indeed the #1 prospect in this draft. Even Myles Turner has been more impressive than Towns.

As for Okafor, there really has also been a double standard that went against him in this draft. Imagine if Okafor had only 3 rebounds in 32 minutes of playing time? He would have been murdered.

Don't listen to those guys man. Towns is gonna be something special, I've followed him since he was 15-16. Living in Jersey and being Dominican and watching him play on the Dominican national team. While they might be right that he doesn't have an area where he is a stand out, he does a bit of everything. In high school they would have him shoot from the perimeter, and he would kill it. He can rebound, shoot (mid range and outside), pass, and he's big enough to bang inside. As he grows as a player, he'll find his comfort spots. Getting NBA action and learning the nuances of the game will help him become a great defender and limit his fouls. He needs to put on some muscle in his lower body, but he has a a great frame so it shouldn't be difficult. He also needs to work on his footwork in the post, it can be clumsy at times. But again, he's so young.

I'm excited for Towns, I think the Wolves was a great destination for him. You guys potentially have 2 Batmans.

Wow some people must not have seen the way Towns shredded through those double and triple teams, imagine if he wasnt being doubled every time he touched the ball? They were treating him like Lebron in the playoffs. I really enjoyed the game, Towns only had one block but he looks like he LOVES to get in the way and alter shots which is amazing to see. He plays winning basketball and that passion we saw seems unteachable.

At first I'd rather Okafor because he is the best player in the draft but Towns is clearly the best prospect. He has to put a lot of work but has everything to be great. I would love to see big numbers in his first game but this is what I expected. He will be the best player from this draft but he won't be ROY. Patience is the mother of science :)

Towns was good today. Showed enough to make me happy with his selection.

wow his passing is something special for a big guy, very Gasolic :)
Ricky, Garnett and Towns can make a big difference with their passing ability. Martin, Shabazz and Wiggins can all score at will :D

Towns passing should be reflected better in the box score- He had 4 assists but I remember at least 3 passes to guards that end in fouls and he could be finished with 6-7 assist easily.

He was poor rebounding the ball but he always box out his man in the defensive board, which allow our team to finish the battle only one rebound behind.

Yep as well as a pass to payne at the rim he couldn't finish or he would have had another one there as well. When those passes are hitting a cutting Wiggins or Bazz or an open garnett / martin / lavine / dieng instead of summer league guys he'll be wracking up the assists no doubt.

Towns' playstyle reminds me of Pau's. Even the emotion for a bucket. It's actually quite scary how much they play like each other.

Currently his game gives me a vision of what rich man's Divac would look like to.

I was seeing a little Vlade yesterday too, at least in his passing.

I shouldn't even criticize you for having the logic of a 13 year old, because you sound like you're 13 years old, and therefore you probably are. First off, there were a lot of morons on twiiter just flaming Okafor for having a bad first half of a first game. Secondly going off on Towns for having a mediocre first summer league game is as asinine as anything I've heard on twitter.

There's a reason why he was by far the consensus number one pick in the draft. Don't be a moron, because I'll be here to keep you in check. MOOOOOORRRRRRROOOOOONNNNNN!
