I'm sorry but that doesn't make sense.
Or you believe in Rubio or you don't trade a first round to save money or/and to just tryout Rubio for 2 years... The Jazz just got a steal in the draft with Donovan Mitchell at #13, the Lakers with Kuzma at #27 and the list goes on and on...

Keep in mind the West got better

Okc
Wolves
Clippers
Denver

All improved

Warriors
Houston
Spurs

Locked in as the top 3

Portland
New Orleans
And Utah on the outside looking in.

And they probably belong in that first group but still that first group is better then the jazz.

They went to semi finals last season with 51 wins in the regular season with a lot of injuries.
And they also got better IMO
Rubio > Hill, i know you disagree.
Udoh, Sefolosha, Donovan Mitchell, that was great additions.

And the Clippers didn't improved at all.
Portland is the same.

You can't go wrong with the Jazz defense. The problem is that they don't a lot of scoring now, Not having Gordon Hayward makes all the difference. Although i believe they still are going to win between 40-45 games, that is how good that defense is (not today tought) especially at home in Utah.

I think either way the jazz front office was looking for experience and not young talent. If you’re going to go young you might as well go full tank and try to get some 1-6 caliber guys.

Bringing Ricky in gives them an affordable 2 year try out and not a 4 year internship ( 16 pick )

This is standard Ricky. Every hot shooting streak has fans convinced he can shoot now. Then it's crashing to earth time.

They basically didn't even play him in the 2nd half too. Although, the Jazz had only 4 field goals in the entire 2nd half so that might not have been smart.

TheGoldenBoy: He sent one Behind-the-Back-Pass to a blonde lady who sat in the first row.
It was a perfect pass but the lady missed it and ended as a turnover.
So Rubio should have an assist more. None of his fault.

THE Tolliver: Spiritually leading TheFu*kingWallFormers to their best level since Rasheed times.

Stoned B-Easy: Demanding Horny to get more minutes in an interview (not trolling... he actually did).

JoseJordan Barea NBA Star: Still trying to penetrate human bodies by punching their bellies with his head.
And being reasonably succesful on it nowadays in Dallas.

SadDog Randolph: Back from a shoulder injurie. Real Madrid will need him against even this dubitative FCBarça.

Ridnagüer: Some months ago, someone named Grand Marshall Luke Ridnour carried a torch for some Special Olympics ceremony at a lutheran university or stuff...
No idea if that was our Luke.

Péko: So far as I know, he still holds his two legs on.

KG: Last time I saw him, he was surrounded by WNBA lady bballers at his program.
He looked both nervous and delighted.

He did have a career high shooting percentage last year. If he improves this year again, it would be a trend.

Ricky's behind the back pass turnover was right to Rodney Hood. Hood just didn't put his hands up cuz he wasn't expecting it.

7 reb 8 assists 4 steals 1 turnover 10 points for Ricky in the win over the nets, hitting 4 of 9. Very nice controlled game and he caused a couple of extra turnovers too which he didnt get credited for. As happened in the past with the wolves, the injury bug showed up in Utah (Gobert out, Exum out, Joe Johnson out) and the coach basically made a desperation move and let Ricky run some more offense for the first time - with predictable results. Beautiful PnR with Favors, great distribution and also due to a well shook up defense, a couple of offensive rebounds that wouldnt be there with 1on1 half court offense.

I think it's Gobert being out. Gobert ruins everything Rubio does with his inability to 'feel' the space Ricky creates and his total inability to catch Rubio's pocket passes.

Rubio better start playing better or he's gonna get benched for Mitchell

Some people were thinking he could play both when he was coming out and he sure looks like he could tonight. He might even be a better defender than Rubio against opposing PGs. With Gobert and his presence inside gone, Jazz need to find a new calling card. Feel like Mitchell/Hood pairing is going to open up the court for them more and they can share ball handling duties. Jazz doesn't have a good outlook so far so they may want to develop Mitchell if things continue to go south. And if Rubio is playing as bad as he has been, why not?

I kinda agree. They made a huge mistake by trading for Rubio while playing the same kind of offense.

Even when the guy was scoring 30 pts, that wan't his natural game... He had 1 ast in that game.

They should tank.

Yeah I wasn't thinking that way but Jazz fans seem to think that they should tank. It's the only way for teams like that to have a chance to acquire an elite talent so why not if they keep losing
