Miami Posters.
This may have been covered, but again, what would be a "FAIR" and reasonable offer for Butler?

Until you have a better offer on the table Richardson, a first, and your pick of Waiters, james johnson or olynyk.

Do not think there is a fair trade available. IMO make the smartest trade. Do what Indy did, gamble on unproven young players. Getting old heads role players like Gordon and Tucker will be a waste. The Wolves core is 22 yrs old. They are not ready to compete on a high level. Think long term not short.

I agree that is fair and reasonable. You know we wouldn't choose Waiters so throw that name out. I think Olynyk is without question the best choice. I don't believe that was offered though. I think it was only Waiters.

Yeah Waiters should not be offered, and the pick has to be unprotected.
JR+KO+ unprotected first = Butler.

I would do it just to move on.

I would reject the Houston deal. Gordon injury prone, PJ doesn't fit the future.
Having to see them with JB 4 times a year hurts our slim PO chances IMO.

Let's flip it. Say Butler is on your squad right now in Miami. Give me two trades you would do from around the league. Any team.
I would like to get a feeling for what you think is fair league wide.

Tucker is an ideal fit next to KAT as smallball PF because of verslity in defense in contract. Gordon is injury prone and demanding big contract, so it is just an expiring. I'd ask two FRP, but it looks like whole NBA now wait us to destry ourselves, rather than try to outbid MIA offer.

His value is whatever teams are willing to offer at the time you seek to trade him. No greater; no less.

Ignoring the cap and just giving you the framework of what I would want being in the position of getting something or losing him for nothing, for Miami I would shoot for a Kuzma/pick + Caldwell Pope or another throw in or Oubre/pick + Morris or another throw in. Basically I'd want a pick to add to my cupboard, a young (cheap) player with potential, and at least a rotation guy.

Ideal fit yes, but at 33 what type of future does he have here. Gordon will miss games, and is going over 30 yrs old. 2 FRP's will be late 20's and spread out over 3 years.
So we get a 33 yr old PJ, a broke down Gordon and 2 late picks for Butler? I'll pass.

I'll take it, but my ideal trade is JRick/Bam/ FRP for Butler.
If we could flip the pick and get Deing off the books, I would do that. If not, keep Deing.

Miami Heat restarting trade talks.
Thibs has em by the ***** now.
They are capped out with a low ceiling. Wolves have a fair amount of leverage here.

Do you have a link, Grubie?

What ever happend to MIA's "take it by minight or we're done" threat? Pat Riley is so **** cap-wise and he knows it. If I'm Thibs, tell that arrogant MF that "if it's not JR, Bam & an unprotected FRP, lose my phone number a$$hole and enjoy your cap hell for the next 2-3 years".

It's nice to know Jimmy is back in the Timberwolves locker room.

Where is this from? I have a hard time believing that.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
