Another pick and Olynyk?

Getting Dieng cheaply allows them to spend money on other positions or go after Lance Stephenson as an FA.
A Brookyln pick and Kelly Olynyk?

It would probably take something close to the #6 just to get Dieng. That's seems ludicrous, and it feels ludicrous to even type it, but I think that's probably the reality of it.

He's a starting quality center on a very cheap rookie deal for 3 more years.

That's an interesting point...where do you think Gorgui Dieng gets drafted this year if he could somehow be re-drafted?

My opinion would be something like 8-10.

I wouldn't give Dieng up for anything less than a top 5 pick. I just can't see trading a player who basically would have been rookie of the year if Adelman even let him play, on his cheap rookie deal, going for anything less.

Especially because he's developing into a 2 way player (which just seems even more rare at center) with good defense / rim protection and a developing offensive game. What Dieng showed at the end of the year is basically what you HOPE any of your draft picks shows in his rookie year, you'd have to pay me a lot to start from scratch again when I've already found gold.

As Embiid buzz at #1 gathers more steam, starting to think getting that pick in a Love trade is very wishful thinking.

If it was any other team i would say zero chances they trade #1 pick and Embiid but we are talking about Cavs, they drafted Bennett ffs, expect the unexpected.

I hope Lebron gives them encouraging words about his impending return to CLE if they trade for Love...no need for him to actually follow through with it though.

I guess we'll have to fall in love with whomever is available at 6.

True. But front office and coach were already fired over that fiasco.

People posting trades need to stop acting like their team can dictate whether they give us a top pick or not.

We will either trade with you or we can find someone else.

Even if we wanted Love to stay and the front office.

After what was said by Rubio the environment would probably not be the best in the Locker room.

That's something that a lot of fans of other teams (GS and Chicago especially) don't seem to understand. If their offers are awful but also the only ones made, we're not forced to take them, we still have the option of walking away and keeping Love for the year.

People need to stop pretending that they are management.

I think you're overstating it.

All Rubio said is that Kevin isn't a vocal leader. Which he's not. Kevin knows that, so why would he be upset.

absolutely correct. Rubio's statements have been way overblown.

on to trade options...

I am not liking the GS option unless David Lee can be moved for another piece. It sounds like teams in the top three aren't going to be an option either. So my favorite option is a bulls trade.

Min Out - Love/Martin
Min In - Gibson/Snell/Boozer(who we release)/#16/#19/Sacs 2015 1st

Chicago adds tons of offensive punch without losing Butler for defense. Rose/Martin/Butler/Love/Noah, if healthy can do quite well in the east.

Minnesota adds a great PF compliment to Pek and Snell who has D and 3 capability. We also add some decent picks. I would look at packaging #19 and #13 to move up to secure Lavine and use pick #16 on Adrian Payne (fits great with Dieng or Pek). Still need to find a place for Barea and find a reliable vet backup PG in case shved proves incapable.

Pek - Dieng - Turiaf
Gibson - Payne - LRMAM
Shabazz - Budinger
Brewer - Snell - Lavine
Rubio - Shved - vet pg

Coach - Joerger

Good balance on offense and defense for both 1st and 2nd units. No sure superstars on the wings, but we would hope Shabazz/Snell/Lavine could develop into a great core. Would make sure to limit Pek's time throughout to season to keep him healthy by playing Dieng/Turiaf more as well as maybe having him sit out back to backs.

What the? Why don't we get Butler and Mirotic? Why are we taking Boozer (who they could amnesty)?

Even Bulls fans wouldn't have the balls to propose such a horrible trade for us.

I'm not the management? I thought this was RealGM? Sounds like false advertising to me then.

If the CHI trade happens (and it's my favorite potential option if we can't get Wiggins or Parker), I sure hope it would include Gibson/Butler/#16/#19 plus possibly either Mirotic and/or a future first.

With that trade, CHI is getting the amazing opportunity to have a big 3 of Rose/Love/Noah... in return, I think they'll have to give us almost all their other assets.

It makes sense for both teams. The CHI players are a good fit for us (and for Joerger) and, when combined with Rubio and Dieng, instantly provide our team with a clear identity reminiscent of gritty, unselfish, 100%-effort champions and contenders like the mid-2000s Pistons and the Bird-era Pacers.

The CHI FO will try to follow the MIA formula and find the right role players to surround their superstar trio... if they can do that and if Rose/Love/Noah stay healthy, the Bulls are instantly in the title mix. I don't see any reason not to ask them for pretty much all we can, as I think they ultimately would say yes to pretty much every piece we ask for outside of Noah and Rose.

Gibson + Butler + Mirotic + 16th + 19th

K.Love + C.Budinger
-------------------------------------------------------------------
16th + 44th pick + JJ.Barea

Affalo
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Pekovic / Dieng / Turiaf
T.gibson / Mirotic / Mbah a Moute
Butler / C.Brewer / S.Muhammad
Affalo / K.Martin / (19th)
Rubio / T.Ennis (13th) / S.Shved

Look at different combinations you can have on the floor.

Dieng - Mbah - C.Brewer - Butler - Rubio - Super defense lineup.
Pekovic - Mirotic - S.Muhammad - K.Martin - Rubio - Super scoring lineup (not much defense lol)

So many styles you can have with a roster like this.

If we can´t land a top-3 pick, i think this is the best deal.

I would take all of Aquintus' arguements against a GSW trade and apply them to this deal ten fold. It looks like a 45 win team at its peak if everything goes right and with the relative ages of several of the main players being 28, this is a win now team that doesn't project to have much upside. There also isn't a player on the team much capable of creating his own shot.

I think you need more to land Afflalo then the 16th pick. Remember, Orlando already has a few picks in this draft.

Complicating matters is money needs to be allotted to Butler and Afflalo after next year, and also Mirotic to get him over. So we'll also be capped out for the foreseeable future.
