I would genuinely suggest you take that trade to the trade board if you think I'm being unreasonable though.

We are good. I did take it to the trade board, a while ago. Thanks for the discussion. :)

Yeah, Turner and Anderson would be a perfect offseason. 18 mil, one year left. But I think Turner will go in Ayton sign-trade to PHO.

We definitely need to look into a consolidation trade, to de-clutter the roster, and find minutes for others.

I think the five players the Wolves would shop hardest are

DLo. .. it looks like the most likely trade destinations chose someone else.
Naz .. like him, but he’d be more useful to a different team
Beasley .. I think he provides a valuable skill, but it sounds like they seek minutes for Nowell

Prince .. he has extra value here, but getting Kyle makes him expendable. Signing Wednesday made him trade eligible
Pat Bev .. another player with extra value here

Targets: big bruiser next to Towns, or a replacement PG is DLo or PatBev are dealt.

That would be so cold if we signed Prince and then threw him in a trade days later…

Beasley, Naz Reid for Graham, Larry Nance Jr?

NOP just drafted Liddell and expect Zion back. Graham had a bad year, so they kind of turn his contract in Beasley

Towns/Nance/Kessler
Vando/Anderson/Nance + Minott
MCD/TP/Moore
Edwards/Beverley/Nowell + Bolmaro
DLo/Graham/JMac

God, I like this lineup a lot! A lot of versatility, can go big with Nance at PF, can go small with Nance at C etc...

If they traded him, I'd assume there was some understanding at signing. You can't risk pissing off CAA.

For fun. Suppose Durant was willing to come to MIN. He always liked the city when he’d visit his ex-fiancée.

Asking price is ANT … (and DLo, Beasley and a 1st).

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Ant, but this is Kevin Durant, first ballot Hall of Famer. Do ya?

No. KD would give us 0-3 years of high level play. Ant will give us a decade.

No, the team is finally on the up, and posters want to trade that for a CHANCE at short-term success.

Ant is turning 21. His game should continue to improve. He is more likely to avoid major injury at 21 and to heal more quickly. KD is turning 34. He has a history of leaving, and recently has been injury prone. Ant is established in the culture and his next max is 25% of the cap vs Durant’s 35% of the cap. KD is a shiny bauble next to KAT, but without Ant and Dlo the likelihood of staying healthy and beating superteams is too small.

According to me the core (Ant Kat JMcD) is untouchable...Dlo Beasley are available...in my head too!
"...I want to compliment him, we all expected that he would take up the game, we have prepared the plan race on him, we have doubled. And, as usual, he did what he wanted..."

Tons of people say we need a "bruiser" or a big body, but as for bigs we first and foremost need a clear starting caliber modern, skilled 4. That is our primary need until we trade DLo...if we do. What we have is some luxury and redundant roles on the roster and an abundance of expiring salary. I do except significant changes to the roster given how it looks. Beasley replaced by Nowell, Naz traded so we extract value, Prince/Anderson. As for a bruiser...I think that role is easily filled if we need one and Naz isn't taking minutes...it is a role on our minds, but not something we would construct a larger trade for in my mind. Probably fairly low priority especially given the holes we could create.

Nobody would be happy with their role. I could see 12 guys there that are probably expecting to have significant playing time, so probably at least 4 or 5 people are pissed off.

I'm actually fine with the froncourt. KAT is the starting center, Kessler and Reid to round out the leftovers. Even Vando could see time there in certain lineups. At the 4, KAT, Vando, Anderson, Prince, and McDaniels are all viable options depending on matchups.

The backcourt, I'd prefer better downhill options. KAT's spacing kinda goes to waste with D'Lo and Beasley unable to attack and draw in defenders. But the depth is fine there too.

Always keep an eye open for a consolidation trade, but I wouldn't bring in any more random solid guys.

It's not even a consideration from my perspective. Durant is going to start the season at age 34, and he doesn't exactly come across as a "I spend a million dollars on my body and health every year" type of guy.

I think his days a 1A option on a contender are probably over, unless the team is properly stacked. He's still an elite shooter that can put up 30 on a Tuesday in his sleep, but I thought it was really telling how Tatum put him in shackles in the playoffs at times. It seemed like a passing the torch moment (which Tatum then unexpectedly passed to Wiggins a few weeks later).

So we'd have a nice team, but our problems on offense recently have been the teams that are super long and athletic, and they get right in everybody's face and dare them to do something. KD is better-equipped to do something than most, but he's not the automatic cheat code he was 5 years ago. At least I don't think he is.

Krawczynski article:

They also continued their talks with Utah about Gobert, which have been on again and off again since before the draft. The Jazz are expected to drive a hard bargain for one of the best defensive players of this generation, but the Wolves remain interested in pairing him with Towns in a super-sized frontcourt. Other bigs who could be explored include Indiana’s Myles Turner and Atlanta's Clint Capela, though there has been very little traction between Minnesota and Atlanta over the last few weeks.

Thought exercise - Brooklyn doesn't like Ayton apparently, and Miami doesn't work b/c Bam can't be traded with Simmons on the roster...revisit D'Lo for Simmons? We could even include Beasley if they want to get off of Joe Harris' extra year. Then include Prince to make up the salary difference, though I think the trade works either way. You could also do Vando if you were really high on Simmons.

Now Brooklyn can roll out: D'Lo/Beasley/O'Neale/Vando/Bam/Curry/Claxton/and of course David Duke.

That's pretty solid! right? RIGHT?
