Probably be smarter waiting for midseason to make another move, but just throwing things out there.
I wouldn't be looking to help out Indy at all after that whole Miles debacle, Maybe if they threw a 1st our way I'd change my mind

To me it sounded like we were the ones who reneged. Are you saying that Indy reneged?

Just a crazy idea
1) Is it possible to trade Dieng + Aldrich + OKC 1st for KCP? DET renounced their rights...
2) Would you give him 60mil/3yr contract?

Are you looking to get dramatically worse whilst wasting money and assets ?

What is a fair offer for KCP?

3/36 maybe if you really believe he will dramatically improve.

KCP is a good defender and with developing offensive game. I guess KCP will sign 1 year deal and try to up his value. Same with Shabazz.

KCP isn't a good defender though

No. Since the deal would put MIN over the salary cap, MIN can only take back Aldrich's contract ($7.3 mil) plus $5 mil.

Who would you trade those players to? DET renounced his rights.

Maybe if MIN was able to trade that package away for cap space, and we haven't signed Crawford yet, we could zip back under the salary cap, and have $20 mil to sign the UFA with cap space? I think he may be worth that contract (especially since it is only three years, and under the max), but he would not be worth it on our team. Even though most teams struggle to find two swingmen, MIN has two that are better than KCP. You don't play that much for a bench player. KCP is a good defender, with the most-sought ability for a swingman - the ability to switch on defense.

NYK GETS: Dieng, Aldrich, OKC 1st
CLE GETS: Melo
MIN GETS: Kevin Love

Dieng is cost controlled, and would fit like a glove next to Porzingas.

(Tee hee! Tee hee!)

Why would the Knicks do this?

To remove the melo-drama.

I don't think he's worth that much to the Knicks right now. They might even take cap space.

And why would the Cavs do this? Surely, they could get some kind of positive asset for Love before dealing for Melo

Stacking up the banana boat crew. They just need Wade to make CP3 force a trade to the Cavs.

In a hypothetical scenario, let's say that the GSW want to shed salary and want to trade Klay.

Would we be ok with trading Wiggins for Klay ?

I am only talking in value for us; it would probably have to be a 3team trade. With Wiggins going to a 3rd team, and some picks going to GSW.

Of course variables about contracts and when trade happens. But value wise (of one can assume some level of keeping Klay), I do that trade. Sends a strong signal to both he and Butler this is a championship team to stay and go for it.

Since we are operating over the salary cap now, we would have to match salaries, so we couldn't save them much money. If we still had cap space, we could save them $10 mil, but just for this year.

Wiggins
2017-18 $7,574,323
2018-19 $24,000,000? (if he gets max)

Klay
2017-18 $17,826,150
2018-19 $18,988,725
