Like Covington. Don’t like Saric. Glad Butler is gone. If Thibs isn’t on the hottest of seats right now...
Entire ownership and management needs to be away from this franchise.

Neutral fans on the Trade Board all think we did really well.
I would not be surprised if Covington and Saric are both starting by month’s end.

Didnt Miami offer both Richardson and Whiteside in one of the configurations? Both players are playing well this season.
But better to get some help now than wait 5 years for a possible lotto pick.

Their initial deal was Whiteside and Waiters, before the season started and Whiteside looked like a truly awful contract. They initially claimed Richardson was off the table.

We gave up our best player and a decent prospect for their 4th/5th best, we should have gotten a frp thrown in.

What a great trade for the wolves. Way better than that poo poo platter from Miami and the four late and protected picks from Houston. Roco is on a phenomenal contract and Wolves need Saric's shooting. Only 24 and they both got some real talent and skills. Best part is that they are 3 point shooters, and look to fit very well with KAT and Wiggins.

The deal includes Bayless’ expiring, so we now have Teague, Tyus, Rose and Bayless.
We need to move 1-2 of them.

I am disgusted. What a terrible trade. This trade pretty much guarantys that we'll be a borderline playoff team for years to come. In other words, NBA pergutory.
If Houston really offered 4 1sts and we took this deal instead... good lord.

They should, otherwise the trade is a complete failure. What's the point in trading for them if they don't start? It's not like you have a clear cut SF or PF demanding minutes.
"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

So, who's the starter. Saric or Gbson?

Re: Butler has requested a trade, the saga continues
I’m not even conv8nced It would be good for philly to re-sign him.
Philly would have to at least make the second round and if eliminated by Toronto, Boston or Milwaukee, at least take them to 6 or 7 games.
Otherwise, they will have done no better than last season.
That wouldn’t be worth giving a 5 year $190 million deal to a 30 year old.

This is a good deal for us. If the gial is to build around kat, this deal is it.
We have floor spacers everywhere for kat, wiggs, rose or teague to go to work in the paint.
Covington is probably top 3 3 and d wing in the league abd isn't ball dominant. We need a young pf because taj and dieng arent it. And he also is a floor spacer.
Now we just need a new coach.
Philly on the other hand have lost 2 of their top 3 shooters.

I think Gibson for now, but Saric maybe in three weeks?
Covington should be starting almost immediately.

Bayless+Taj for significant multi-year contract probably makes most sense

Both can stretch the floor a little bit and open up driving lanes for Rose and Wiggins. They also replace some of the toughness we will be losing with Butler gone. I'm pleased.
Teague / Tyus
Wiggins / Rose
Covington / Okogie
Taj / Saric
Towns / Dieng
yeah, I don't know what people were expecting
Move Taj for a wing on a multi-year contract on a team that would prefer cap-space
Get those spacing lineups out there for KAT
Whoops, forgot about Taj. Fixed. That's a solid 10 man rotation.

Right. Or a two year deal and a decent asset, if we are going the other way.

Re: Butler has requested a trade, the saga continues
I think all things considered, this is a solid deal for you guys. Covington is a great 3&D guy to put next to Wiggins and can guard like 4 positions if needed and Saric a decent stretch 4. I'm surprised so many don't like it. Obviously a first round pick would have been nice too but it would have been a pretty late one anyway.
