This is where the wolves are at right now lol. We got a lot of work to do to get a positive image. Years of work ahead of us. Best we can hope for is a really fun to watch team this year even though we will probably get under 25 wins.

It should be a fun team to watch. 25 wins? I'd expect more than that. I guess I'm looking at 2 rookies for major contributions though, as well as the majority of the reason for butts in the seats. Rubio ahead to LaVine and Wiggins should be fun. LaVine should be able to turn into a good defender, and Wiggins is known for it. Rubio plays the passing lanes well. Dieng looks to be good defensively. Budinger can shoot. Not much else of note, besides Brewer and Martin who you hear talked about in trades. If you could combine those 2 you'd have something. As it is, not a fan. One can do nothing but shoot, the other does nothing but run the floor. For the Wolves, they'd still be sitting pretty good if they hadn't traded Mirotic.

Rubio
LaVine
Wiggins
Mirotic
Dieng

I don't know who they'd put at PF now. No one good as far as I can see, unless Bennett isn't the bust most think he is. Actually the Wolves really screwed up. They had the rights to Chandler Parsons as well. Traded him for cash. SMH. Mirotic? Had him but traded him for Norris Cole, Malcolm Lee and CASH. If they hadn't screwed that draft so horribly, they could've had this team, without any trades. I'm thinking Love might have stuck around for that roster, considering that Parsons and Mirotic are most likely better than anyone on the team aside from Love.

Always had a liking for Minnesota teams. Maybe it started because as a kid we would always drive through Minnesota to get to Manitoba or maybe it was Mary Tyler Moore. Liked the Viking before I even new a player on the team and also thought Fran Tarkenton's name was cool. Loved Kirby Puckett and quite often cheered for the Minnesota North Stars as a second favorite team in the NHL.

If you get Wiggins, Bennett and a 1st for Love (who plans on leaving next year) then I feel that the Timberwolves are getting more than Cleveland got from Miami when LeBron left to go to Miami. If the trade goes through, I'll be watching more Timberwolves games.

What is sad were all these games against the Lakers & Celtics when more Kobe/Garnett fanboys were in the arena than Timberwolves fans. You could even see this on the crappy pies I have used.

Don't worry about PF. It is probably the easiest position to fill in basketball. There is at least three good ones in each draft.
However, you gotta question whether Dieng can develop into an above average starting C which is much more important than a PF.

Well, nobody I talk to gives a damn about the Wild, or Gopher Football, or the Dallas Cowboys, including me. So?

Maybe vets like Pek, Rubio, Williams can help carry us some but in the west, I see us getting killed. Too young, too frail. Even with Love getting the 8th seed would be a struggle.

I think he'll definitely be an above average starting C. Last year in his 20+ starts or w/e it was, he averaged something like 12 and 12 didn't he? Just off the top of my head. I like him.

We have no idea how his huge body will react to an 82 game as a starter season yet.
What he did at the end of the season was really promissing but that was with most players running on their last bits of fuel at the end of a long season. Gorgui hadn't played much at all so he was as healthy as you can get. Gotta see if he can sustain this level of play right from the start of a season until the very end. :dontknow:

You can't let the haters or bandwagoners ruin your enjoyment of your team.

Eh that's true, but he still proved he can produce in that role. It's not a tiny sample size either, almost a 3rd of a season I think. You make a valid point, but as a rookie to be able to do that when finally given a chance shows the capability and is just as valid.

Reading some of these comments, all I have to say is if I can rep the Wolves down in Columbus, Ga when half the people think its a rec league or church league team then you guys living up there can at least do the same. C'mon man! This team was around before Kevin Love and it will exist after him.

Today I was playing some ball with a dude visiting from Seattle.. who also happened to go to the rival school of Zach LaVine.

He was talking about how nobody wants to play in Minnesota and how Zach is leaving as soon as possible. I responded with 'at least we got a team'.. dude looked pretty salty when I said that.

Well things can change and someday we may be the ones without a team.....

But you should of at least mentioned how Chris Hansen tried to purchase the Timberwolves and got denied!
I want to move back to Minnesota, I miss it sooooo much!

I'm just browsing but didn't LaVine say "f#@k" when called for the draft to go to Minny? Some people said he felt relief to be called but I thought he looked different...plus he kinda knew he was going somewhere right? So relief wouldn't be the word...

in an interview he said people were misinterpreting him and that his words were " **** man...", but like "**** man...I'm in the NBA...lordy lord!" not like " **** man, I need to go buy some North Face gear."

Anyway all we got to do is get a good team. This is a great city and no one will care if the team is awesome and the fans show up. If people suddenly want to flock to Cleveland they can play in the Twin Cities too. Its all about the team.

As for what it's like here in the summer, what do you mean? It's nice, do we see players out and about all the time? You'd have to ask someone who goes out on the town a lot. The good thing about here is that there are a lot of really nice secluded areas to go to if you don't want to be the in public eye.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he said **** me at that moment. Like lordy lord I'm traded to... Minny. But hey, I could be wrong, reading lips isn't an easy past time of mine.
