Re: General free agency thread
I woul love that Thibs call Zach Randolph for the next FA.... I think that if we change Dieng for Randolph and we acquire a decent PG, We would have one of the best second units of the NBA....
Edit: I have seen that Zach have another year with Kings... **** life, I would love see it whit our shirt.

Doesn’t jimmy already guard most teams pg?
Let’s move on from teague.. move jimmy to pg.. Wiggins to sg.. and find me a 3&d sf who wants to test jimmys defense and push Wiggins on offense..
Tyus will back up pg. and any other young guy or mle guy on the market in the second unit..
I’m so tired of this we need a certain position.. no we don’t. We need basketball players.. and specialists...
watch the Celtics play... the my draft one position.. and that position plays 4 of the five positions on the floor most of the time...

This is what i argued against at the time Teague was signed
Other than Lowry, Butler is a better playmaker than any of the FA PGs. He killed it whenever he was forced to be the defacto PG for the Bulls, usually because of injury
If Lowry wasn't a possibility (who knows, Wolves signed Teague at midnight), than Wolves should have gone after a short "SG" like Bradley (in trade) or KCP that is far better off the ball and can defend multiple positions
That allows Jimmy to be the playmaker on offense, where he is ELITE, and defend where needed.
With Teague, its just a guy who isn't as good with the ball as Butler on offense, and can only poorly defend one position
Thibs/Wolves management just have zero imagination of how to maximize their stars

A defensive wing in the rotation would do wonders for this team.

I was irate and blew up some peeps phones when we signed Gibson and teague...
and I was even more irritated to see how cheap pg13 and melo went for.. if u had that cap room, would have been easily done here...
why can’t management just be happy they picked up jimmy.. literally made the team 20% better than year prior.. trade Rubio.. ok I can settle.. but rush to get teague and Gibson?? It’s not 2000... dif nba. Has thibs been passed by? Like his style cannot win in the west?

I think we need a shooter from the bench who can get hot for 5-10 minutes when Crawford misses his shots. I wonder if Thibs can get Mindaugas Kuzminskas or trade for Bellineli or call Anthony Brown number.

Free agents have been good so far.
The team in 4th in the West and starting to click.
Next target needs to be a defensive specialist however.

Yeah, but I want to be sure that he has developed any resemblance of 3point shot, and his basketball IQ is higher than Shabazz. I want to see a player who can play certain role. Like Brandon Paul in SAS.
Also I think that we need someone who will take and make open corner 3s at high rate. Someone who sits in the corner ready to shoot after Wiggins and Butler passes. Maybe Anthony Brown is that man.
P.S. I'm starting to think that Rush has had a conflict with Thibs, otherwise I don't understand why he is not here for vetmin. He is perfect 10 man for this team.

I think I remember one of the local reporters tweeting during FA that bridge was burned with Rush-Thibs, but nothing more specific than that
Rush probably was mailing it in as far as work ethic, practice since he went from Championship team to one of the worse
Kept getting them checks

Re: General free agency thread
Surprised Dunleavy hasn't been even a rumor for the open roster spot
Old as dirt, but he was still a knock down shooter even in limited minutes when he came back healthy last year, and has the Thibs experience
For a 10 MPG role, that seems pretty ideal presuming he's stayed in shape

I wouldn't mind him on a two way contract, but I can't see giving him a regular roster spot.

Re: General free agency thread
Id take a flyer on james young right now before someone else does.
Hes averaging almost 10 3 pt attempts per game and hitting them at a 44% clip. Hes generally been a plus player on the court.
Hes still younger than bazz and likely wouldnt be worse.

Re: General free agency thread
Derrick Jones Jr should be in our short list of mid season signings. I want to see someone who can defend at least one position. One slam dunk champion is out, get another slam dunk champion!

Bogut would have been great.
Give him Longleys old number

Re: General free agency thread
Was reading the trade thread and thinking about the future for the wolves for this and next season. I don’t see any trades coming during the season. I think what we have for the 2017-2018 season is a great building block for future seasons. I expect the team to build more via free agency.
Guys I like for this teams style & needs
Willie reed
Ed Davis
Dante Cunningham
Jerami Grant
James Ennis
This team is in a very unique position. With such a great and balanced starting line up there’s only one need honestly and that’s to bolster the bench. This summers FA class ironically has a decent amount of the the guys this team needs. IF we can manage to trade gorgui (including that pick) there’s be a huge opportunity to add some SF and PF/C depth.

Im looking at deron williams or Nate robinson or even GP II to come fill our pg void for the next little while.
It would be very short-sighted to give up Aldrich or a 1st to pick up a stop gap.

Would you give a chance to Trey Burke?
