Re: NBA Draft Day Thread
Wiseman if I pick #1 to keep.
That 7’ Poku dude, Precious guy, and Saddiq Bey have my attention at 17
Lots of intriguing dark horses at 33
I like Okoro, Okungwu, Deni, Toppin, etc as trade down options ... Haliburton is intriguing too.
I don’t see us getting into any 3-ways with teams making big moves.
Lots of depth IMO in the draft... without a college season and tournament, there is also appears to be a little disarray in terms of player projections and profiles.

Re: NBA Draft Day Thread
I’ve come to grips with any of the top 3 guys. If we stay at # I think Ball should be the pick. I would be happier if we can trade down to 3 and still get Ball.
I also would mind if we trade out of the top 3 all together and just grabbed OO or Halliburton.

I would hope Rosas tries to package Spellman, evans, Nowell for another second round pick. Get two of Paul Reed, Jaden McDaniels or Reggie Perry.

I wish it were possible to do more than an And1 on here... it got a legit lol out of me.

Re: NBA Draft Day Thread
Here's what I want to happen:
1 - Trade #1 to Charlotte for #3 and PJ Williams
2 = Select Patrick Williams at #3
3 - Trade #17 and Culver for #6 (OO hurt and No Patrick Williams available as motivators for Atl)
4 - Select Deni Avidija at 6, or if not available, Isaac Okoro at 6
5 - 33rd Pick - If Bane or Nesmith available, take whichever is availabe. If neither, select Cassius Stanley.
Focus is obtaining the 6'6 to 6'9" athletes with a variety of skills.

I’ll be surprised for McDaniels is there at 33. I’d be okay with moving up a bit from 17 for him. I think, he, Poku and Hampton might be my favorite swing for the fences guys that might go outside the lottery.

Here are just stuck on his height. In redrafts in upcoming years he won’t even be top 5.
There are 7'1 guys in every draft... It has more to do with his athleticism relative to his size. I don't think I've ever seen a player with a 9'6 standing reach and comparable agility. Rudy Gobert is probably the closest, and he's a perennial DPOY candidate.

Re: NBA Draft Day Thread
Wiseman is the pick.
He has a few years to make Towns (Wolves lone potential superstar) look better. At WORST his value is Ayton in 2 years...which today is probably top 3 value straight up. Every NBA executive knows bigs take longer to develop. With that said, I can’t imagine Wiseman value tanks playing 70% next to 10x 3PT per game attempts Towns and 30% earning his stripes alone.
So in 2 years if the twin towers just isn’t working, trade one. And yes that could be Towns. He might be asking out of MN and Wolves will have only 2 controlled years remaining.
Culver and Okogie already on roster to make Russell (and maybe Beasley) look better.
Draft SF/wing at #17 or trade for one with #17 + Johnson + Youth.
Ask yourself, in 2 years if Ball is trending brother Ball, and Edwards looking like Wiggins 2.0, what could Wolves recoup in value for either? Where is if Wiseman (unicorn big man who as big man NBA knowingly takes longer to hit floor or ceiling) in two years will retain value a lot more successfully.

Everyone knows that I'm a huge Wiseman rube but that would be one heck of a scenario that I could really get behind.
C - Towns/Reid
PF - Williams/Williams
SF - Avdija/Okogie
SG - Beasley/Bane
PG - Russell/FA
Patrick Williams is really growing on me and Bilas is extremely high on him as well. On a side note, Bilas had Edwards at #1, Wiseman #2 and Ball #3 but he was REALLY concerned about Edwards' lack of passion for the game and insinuated that he would pass on him if it was his team drafting.

Randy "The Macho Man" Savage would give it a big "Ohhhhhhhhhhh Yeeeeaaaahhhhh" if we selected Wiseman.
