Plus, Wood was unrestricted while Beasley was restricted.

Rather have wood on his deal tbh, wolves need a starting pf badly not an overpaid bench guard.

Good deal if he's got his life off the court in order and moving forward.He's a hell of a scoring threat and could be one of the best 6th in the leauge if he's not starting.

Beasley,Edwards,Rubio,Russell...ect Rosas has really add a hell of a lot of talent to this roster in a span of a year to go along side KAT.Still need to find our starting PF but liking the upgraded roster.

This is where I'm at. 15mil per was at the upper limit of what I would have been comfortable with so it's not doom and gloom but yeah, that's a hefty contract. He better damn well keep up the production and pick it up on defence.

Assuming 8% raises it puts next year at about 13.5mil. Not sure how that impacts Juancho, McLaughlin and the MLE.

Hope we can sign PF like Marcus Morris for MLE...Maybe Bobby Portis takes a paycut and take the MLE.

We paid the luxury tax last year. We are clearly going to be in the tax moving forward with Russell, KAT, Beasley, and Rubio on the books. The question becomes what happens next year if the new owner is paying for the tax and we have a poor year? Won’t end well.

Not the end of the world. Just surprising for an organization that likes winning in the margins.

Beasley was 38% on almost 700 3pt attempts with Denver before the Wolves

Off court issues aside, I thought he was going to ask for 17+.

4th year as a team option makes it a decent result imo

Right there with you, King. If there's no COVID, no legal issues, he may have gotten closer to $20M per year.

I also happen to think he starts next to Russell come opening night.

I saw him playing a lot while in Denver and he is a baller. The perfect 6th man tbh. Happy he is back to the Wolves.
I expect we do 1 or 2 trades at least to bring some big man.
But our PG-SG rotation is super strong 8-)

I don't think Wolves will be paying luxury tax for next season..they currently have around $121M for 13 players...luxury tax cutoff for next seasoni s $132.5M...I can see them avoiding it

I do think Beasley will start instead of Rubio

Beasley's more of a JJ Redick type, good complimentary player with his shooting/spacing/off-ball movement but doesn't have creation ability to be "6th man" that can keep offense going when some or all of the starters are resting, like Crawford could do

Rubio can pick/roll, play with faster pace with mostly bench guys to keep offense going

Also him turning down 30 year 30 million has worked out. If he didn't screw up so badly this summer he probably could have commanded more.

Also. Buddy Hield is on a four year 94 million dollar deal. It could be worse.

Saying the bad contract is not AS bad as the bad contract the GM just traded for this week speaks volumes.

Think that's a pefect role for him and if Rubio comes off the bench as well thats a hell of a one two punch off the bench and could leaded to us having one of the better benches in the league.With Rubio's defense and playmaking ability paired with Beasley scoring punch.

You’re probably right. Going to be close and might effect our ability to both resign Juancho and use the full MLE.

I don't think it will be a bad contract. It could be but I think he will have a huge role on this team and it wont be a burden of a deal at all.

I actually think this kind of screws us out of other moves.

I'm using the Capulator at Shamsports so there's some noise (still haven't updated the new cap so rookie scale contracts are likely higher) but even if we go conservative and say Edwards+McDaniels=11.5, add it Beasley's 13.5ish next year...it'll be easier to put it all out;

KAT+DLo= roughly 58mil
Rubio = 17
Edwards+McDaniels = 11.5
Beasley = 13.5
Evans+Spellman = 4
Culver = 6
Okogie+Layman = 6.4
Vandy+Nowell+Reid = 4.5

That adds up to 121 rounded with the luxury I believe remaining at 132. If you were to actually use the full MLE that'd put us at 130 without Juancho, McLaughlin or Martin signed.
