Re: Towns & Okogie Both OUT 1 Month
Okogie looked a heck of a lot more like a hamstring pull than cramping. Hamstrings all depend on the severity but absolutely can’t rush it back or you’re back to step one.
I had a very minor hamstring pull playing basketball two months ago. Tried jogging two weeks later, reaggravated, just got my first full run in about a week ago.
How you guys never sprained your wrist? Depends how bad it is. But wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still completely swollen and in a split of some sort. If it popped out of place, those ligaments were torn/strained. You want to him to play one handed while risking re-injury?
None of us knows. But a reasonable guess would be both players out a month.
No point in tanking since we’re likely to lose our pick even if we finish with the worst record. Not sure there is any big out there that is going to help this month though.

With 2 starters out need to shake things up. Time to start #1 pick and hope for the best. Also stop dicking around and start Rubio. Beasley off the bench to replace 2nd unit firepower of the Ant.
Rubio, Russel, Culver, Ant, Naz.

It’s been a rough few nights as a wolves fan. Kat hurt, dlo looks like complete crap, only thing that makes me feel better is knowing the warriors will need to attach the wolves pick if it is in the 4-12 range to even unload Wiggins.

There is no point in wasting talent or assets on Wagner. If you must go grab a youngster grab Donta Hall or TJ Leaf for free. I’d personally rather have RHJ though.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

This sucks. Sorry to hear this. More nights like last night will make it hard to trade anyone for value and will stunt Edwards' growth too much. Hope they can rally.

Just start Wiseman.
Just saying, if Wolves were conducting the Wiseman and Towns duo capability test, this wouldn’t be a problem.
Wiseman
Hernangomez
Culver
Russell
Rubio
See you in a month+ KAT. Take your time.

Re: Towns & Okogie Both OUT 1 Month
In seriousness, Memphis may have a hurt Morant.
Rubio for Dieng+
Rubio + Culver for Clarke + Dieng
Or if Melton and Jones are PG enough for them...
Beasley + Layman for Winslow + Dieng

Did you see Wiseman get dominated by the average WCJ?
Ant will have much higher value in 4-5 years it won’t be close.

So one game sample size to judge 4-5 years? Good to know. And good to know you can see the future with such certainty.
I hope for your argument sake the one game sample size you are using for Edwards wasn’t his last one. Ouch.

Two way wings have much higher value in this league than cant play defense centers that aren’t elite shooters like Kat look at Aytons value now.

Is Edwards a two way wing? Nope.
If he can become such and not be a just a chucker, sure I am all for it.

The short ramp up combined with the rushed season is going to get a lot of guys hurt early. We lost 2 starters and one of them is our best player. Bad though this sounds, if we can avoid further injury we might win the war of attrition. For example, Memphis just lost Morant to a bad ankle injury. AD is missing time with a calf strain. Too early to call the season.

Vanderbilt or Layman for Wagner is even trade.
Our trash for a one year rental of a guy who still has upside.

Re: Towns & Okogie Both OUT 1 Month
This sucks so bad. I was pretty sure and scared that Towns injured was more than just week or so.
2 things about this...
1. Is really dangerous to go to a tanking route with this team to try to get a top-3 pick at end of the season. Fully heathy i don't think we are able to grab a playoff spot. Not even a play-in spot but i don't think we are bad enough to be one of the worst 3 teams in the league. Especially with KAT coming back in one month or so.
2. I can't help once again mention the disaster moves made by Rosas and how unbalanced this team is going to the season. One thing is to lose your best player and get a lot weaker by so. Another thing is to lose your best player and having D-League players as alternatives (in the rotation) in the frountcourt positions. In a season without the control of our own pick.
I'm not saying we should have draft Wiseman for example but you know my feelings about going for Edwards (10M) first and then trade for Rubio (17M) re-sign Beasley (14M) while keeping Dlo (30M), Culver and Okogie.

I actually think Unfadeable's idea to target Wagner might a good one for this team. He has high gameIQ and a competitive mean streak. Two things this team needs. He's also capable of hitting some 3s at about Edward's level, which isn't great but just like Edwards he can warm up at times. As for "wasting" talent on Wagner, this team's roster is totally screwed and logjammed anyway. It could stand some removals. The dangerous part is who that should/could be. Who would they take in return? I doubt they just take our worst current performers. I don't think Rosas/Ryan planned for this kind of move right now. They are busy on a different plan. You can blame Rosas/Ryan for destroying any value in Layman/Hernangomez. Not that they need to get value for Layman, but Juancho just got a deal so seeing him drop off is not good. Jalen Nowell can't net you much in return when he never plays. What's the most recent injury claim on him?
I would not trade McDaniel's for anything. He might be the only offseason addition with high level upside over what was spent for him. They probably should be playing him with at least bench minutes already given the alternatives.
Can't move Okogie now when injured.
I still contend one or both of Culver/Edwards are being spotlighted for being possible key cogs in a multiteam trade and that's why Ryan/Rosas are playing them with wreckless abandon to what it's doing to this team and the value of others right now.
As for Towns, if the constantly errored information of Spotrac is any indication, Towns has a "season ending injury" - wrist. Nowell has the same notation for an ankle injury right now on their site. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/minnesota-timberwolves/cap/
Wolves in purgatory right now unless they can get a serious return on Edwards/Culver soon. But there is a chance that only the Wolves fans have been sold on these two so far. Coming up that lame against the Lakers didn't help any perceptions on anyone.
