Should.
Instead, I expect 30+ minutes each for Okogie and Nowell.

Layman.

Really? Beasley’s actions (pointing a gun at a family, pointing a gun at his child, leaving loaded weapons around a toddler), are potentially lethal decisions that could cause the death of a child.
I do not think 12 games is overblown. Some things are more important than how good a basketball player a man is.

The question is whether the NBA would assess the same penalty to a star on a winning team? I think the answer is clearly no. Also 10/82 is 12.2%. 12/72 is 16.7%. That is how much of his salary and how much of the season are lost. You can argue it is reasonable, and there are plenty of details I wish I knew in making that judgment, but I do believe it is more likely they send a message to a Timberwolf then a Laker or Warrior, or Buck, or 76er.

What possible evidence is there that a player on a winning team wouldn’t get this punishment? “Clearly no?”
The Beasley story was national news because of it’s severity, and it hurts the image of the entire NBA. These were felony charges when they made the news, before they got reduced in a plea bargain. The NBA main office had to levy a harsh penalty.

There were extenuating circumstances. For one, he had no priors, for another riots were going on, and finally by pleading out he saved the time and money and legal congestion of a trial. Judicial economy is something highly prized given how full the dockets are. Still, I am surprised they are making him serve time at all. I honestly believe had he been white and the family non white he would have been on a suspended sentence or invited to speak at the RNC.

100 percent justified. This absolute tool pointed a loaded rifle, while stoned, at a little girl.
...and then people are like... ‘I just love Beasley, I think he’s gonna be a star’
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
