He's been practicing all season. The rule was changed before the season from number of days (practice included) to just number of games.
I had heard the rule change right before the season was extending the amount of games/days from the original 45 to 50 and they were still thinking about allowing them to play in the playoffs. There was still a limit of total days before. Now all limits are lifted and its certain they can play in playoffs based on the report today I saw. Unless I missed some other report that limits were completely lifted earlier or practices were. But then why the new report of changes? Just game amounts now?
JMac also wasn't yet with the team at the start of season so he was prorated some minor amount in both days/games and total amount he could earn was probably docked a bit. That's one of the reasons I always thought these were lame deals. The team can hold them out of practices/games saying they want to save their available days for later and yet they might just actually want to save some money even though it's not against the cap. The less of their max time they use, the less they get paid. Now with no limits, does his pay go up if he plays 64 games I wonder?
