This always happens with Russell: gets hot, his defender starts playing him more aggressively, and then he turns it over because his handle sucks and he misses tough shots. Started 5/5 with 1 turnover, ended the half with 4 turnovers and 5/9.

And his turnovers are the worst because he loses it at the top of the key and then there's free two points for the opponent.

No Towns, these guys are not in the mood to put up a fight. Gave up right after the tip.

McDaniels and Naz are going to have to get WAY better on the boards, they are trash. I think they really need to learn to boxout cause they don't have the instincts or hops to snatch boards. If they are playing 30 minutes they need to be grabbing 8 plus a game.

I will never understand how you are shooting 2-11, yet continue to throw them up. He gets to the rim so easily and yet we see this crap. It’s fine to have an off shooting night, but there is no need to continue to shoot 3’s. Man is he frustrating.

Nowell, 1-10 0-7 from 3. Want to talk about that too?

YES.

Ant gets to the rim so easily, it is frustrating to see him shoot that many 3’s on an off shooting night. But yes, nowell is on that list as well.

Meh. It's just one of those games. Don't worry... he's perfectly fine on defense. Being an average defender as a rookie is HUGE. He's only going to get better. If you don't believe me... just ask Edwards.

“There’s games where I’ve been great, games where I’ve been trash and games where I’ve been alright,” Edwards said of his defense. “So I’d say I’ve been alright. I’m in the middle.”

He's got it all figured out.

"Defense is effort. You give effort and you’ve got great defense.”

It's just not his day to try, I guess. I'm pretty sure he'll start trying after he's heaped with more praise and more money for not doing it that way previously. That's usually the way it works, right?

It's really as simple as that. Ant will be just fine.

Today's game shows just how important Towns is to the team.

We haven't had a player box out with the exception of KG, Love, Taj and sometimes Kat. There must be a sign in the Wolves locker room that say "there is no need to box out".

Lucamillo23, they are down by 40. It's all practice at this point and a little ego too. He wants to feel one going in.

Obviously in a close game you can't do that. He's getting better at controlling himself when it matters.

Don't say that on the main board. I got shot down for saying how important KAT is Why does everyone hate the wolves over there? I would of assumed they'd feel sorry for us.

I only saw about 1.5 quarters but I saw the box score. From what I saw, Naz is a PF playing center, and our “PFs” have the body of SF with the height to maybe be an undersized PF, maybe. Rebounding without Naz just didn’t happen and even with him was a struggle. Interior defense is simply not possible this undersized. This forces our guards inside to backup our forwards and creates open 3s for any player they want to take them (assuming they pass well.) Getting a legit backup C will do wonders. Personally I want us to get Gorgui back. Imagine Naz and Gorgui sharing the floor with Ant, Nowell, and either Rubio or some other backup PG (vet with a track record of coming off the bench.) Meanwhile Dlo, Beasley, MCD, newly drafted or signed big, and KAT start. The closers are whoever is doing the best. A starting lineup without Ant ball dominating gives our best shooters more touches and more shots. A second lineup with decent interior scoring, rebounding, corner 3 point shooting, and dynamic playmakers like Nowell, Ant, and Reid. This team could legit be a playoff team. The problem will always be depth. KAT is to us what Curry is to GSW, or Harden was to Houston, or MJ was to the bulls. Without the dynamic star leading the way everything crumbles. You can limp along and maybe even win a few games, but the team depends on the top star to get it through.

Long story short, we need more size, better bench depth, and a healthy roster to compete. We were missing KAT and Beasley. We had Dlo on minute restriction, and Nowell was coming back from an injury that kept him out four games and I bet was still nagging at him. Add a bad day from Reid and Naz and you have a blowout against a half decent team, let alone the best team in the east, if not the entire NBA.
