I don’t know enough about Collins. Thoughts?

I believe Collins just had his third ankle operation in under a year and is out indefinitely (after playing 11 games in 2019-20 and zero games in 2020-21).

Entering restricted free agency, might make him a buy-low candidate.

If Portland isn't interested then neither am I.

At this point he's far too big of a risk.

Collins is high risk reward guy. I could see it working until ankle surgery again. I actually thought they made a decent case for Powell as a trade where we don’t give up much. I like Theis but do remember some discussion Bulls got worse and Boston got better after the trade (haven’t checked), could be many reasons but I’d still gamble on him.

Mo Wagner? He is not very athletic, but he is very active, mobile, high IQ young player with promising shot. His skillset kind of overlaps with Naz Reid's and Juancho, but if we can get him for team friendly 5-6mil I'd try to form KAT-Reid-Wagner-Vando-McDaniels rotation.

If Minnesota trades Naz Reid, Mo Wagner is absolutely the kind of player Minnesota will try to sign.

In terms of skillset, I agree. But don't think they'll necessarily put big money into reserves.

Wagner is a PF he isn't dependent on Naz, but it would indicate we might move on from Juancho this year via trade or next year via option...I think that is how his contract goes if I remember correctly?

Maybe the power forward we needed was in our hearts on the roster all along?

NOTE: I like ChatterWolves but he's easier to listen to at 1.25 speed as he speaks a little slowly.

Anyway, might be easier to find a backup center in free agency than a starting PF....

Okay, RealGM, tell me why it won't work. :D

Why would we trade Naz? He's exactly what we need. Good backup. Cheap. And seems to "want" to be here.

Only cheap for one more year. Then he won't be.

They always wanna be here until they have some value …

Agree. Love Naz, but if he has value around the league then it might be time to cash out. At some point, perhaps as early as the start of next season, he's going to earn himself a larger role that we won't be able to give him so long as Kat stays healthy.

The only Collins in the NBA I'm interested in is John. Other than that I like Tom.

How expensive are we expecting him to be?

If him playing the 4 is in the cards long term I'd be willing to pay him 10mil per, especially if he continues improving.

Seems more like speculation.

I don't understand the fascination with Markannen. He can shoot, granted, but he's never healthy, can't defend or rebound and IIRC there were rumblings about him being upset about his role a while back.

He's a slightly better rebounding Bertans and I wouldn't want either at Bertans' contract, let alone whatever Lauri might end up costing.

Let’s use Rosas’ checklist from the end of season interview

Defend the rim? No
Defend the pick and roll? No
Rebound? No

I don’t get it either.

I think $10-12 million per is the low end of his range.
