Generally true …

I’d put a lot of our issues on DLo … he has not provided the needed court leadership and necessary defense. Both are costing us big time.

Believe it or not, we now prolly need McLaughlin to run the point with Beverly. Find the hot hand between Beasley and DLo, and at this point, I’d even consider Okogie defensively and getting to the line. We’re banking Ant and Kat can contribute 60 points of offense. McD, Prince, Reid, Vando just need to be solid role players.

Game 6 will be a blow out one way or the other IMO

Geeze - they bumped our last game back a day, and now it’s another three days between games?

This gives Steph, Klay and Draymond lots of rest. Maybe that was the goal?

Btw, in case you hadn’t heard this, there was a great tweet from a writer at The Athletic that went something like ..

“The MIN-MEM series is like watching two teams of interns at an open heart surgery competition.”

We started the opening day of playoffs with Utah/Dallas, Philly/Toronto and GS/Denver.

Got shafted to a tues night game while the other 3 played Monday. Now somehow Phoenix and Nola pass us as we wait another 3 days between games

I'm hesitant to put DLo on the bench because he brings an air of confidence to the team. Whether he's making shots or not, the team knows that he can. I expect him to heat up in one of these last 2 games, preferably game 7.

The person missing from the party is Beasley. It's like he just disappeared. Sometimes teams design defenses to take out your third and fourth options, living with the results from your top guns. I really feel like that's what the Grizzlies are doing. Their guarding DLo with length and physicality, that he can't shoot over. He's gets bodied on every dry by Brooks, just to throw off his rhythm. Russell is absolutely the person we need to run plays for in order to get him going. Just bump Brooks a little!

I feel like they're running a box and one on Beasley. They know where he is at all times and he's not getting any free looks. He's going to have to fix it in his head that someone is going to be in his space, knowing that he can still knock down the shot. If he's not scoring, he disappears defensively. It's all mental once his shots stop falling.

Someone needs to bring a sign to the game that reads: “Quiet Ass DLo”

Feels like it all just comes down to KAT. Does he keep his cool and minimize fouling? If he does, Wolves should win. They definitely win the talent matchup but just way too many dumb mistakes. Should definitely be a massive learning experience for a young team, whether they win the series or not.

So DLo averaged 31 and 7 on 56/46/79 splits in the Memphis regular season series.

He's currently averaging 13 and 7 on 32/39/75 splits in the playoffs.

Credit the Grizz for completely shutting him down. It's not like it was 1 game that spiked the average either (30, 28, 29, 37), he consistently dominated them.

And the shots dlo is making are unorthodox shots. Like the 3 where he touched the ball for like a tenth of a second, or some running bank turn around? Dude is bricking his normal shots, big time.

I also feel beas needs more looks since he can put up 6 points in a flash.prince and mcdaniels shouldn’t be shooting more 3s than Beas

Stephen Adams + drop scheme versus Tillman/Clarke level type scheme.

Crazy idea: Bench Russell for Beasley?

I think it's worth trying. Dane Moore alluded to a similar issue of he believes Finch would like JMac in more but there's the politics of it with Beverly and DLo hierarchy.

It feels like more than that.

I'll admit I haven't examined every possession or anything but he seems to really struggle with the physicality. Like he can't get any seperation whatsoever from whoever is guarding him (Brooks, usually, AFAIK) and it's not like he's a blow-by kind of player to begin with.

I do wonder if they can maybe involve him in some more off ball actions to try and get him going. Treat him a little less as a PG and a little more like a SG. I mean, do we even run that inverted KAT-DLo PnR that Finch brought over from Denver when he first got here?

I'm hoping to see a lot more structure on offense in the 4th quarter. The Wolves strategy of constant hero ball iso shots that alternate between DLO/ANT/KAT has really got to stop.

I think it is more a matter of McDaniels being allowed to play his more natural position of SF. Jaden trying to rebound when his matchup outweighs him by 40+ lbs is never going to be a recipe for success. Unfortunately, the Wolves poor roster construction doesn't have much in the way alternatives at PF.
