I don’t want to give the LAC or GSW or whoever a chance to one shot us. I especially don’t want OKC in round 1. Also don’t be surprised if both GSW and Memphis slip. I don’t love us is in 5, but I think that is where this is headed.

I want to avoid OKC and Lakers. OKC is good and get way too many calls as soon as you touch SGA. For the Fakers, series may be decided by The refs so i prefer to avoid as well.

I hate the Rockets. They were lucky all season and when you want them win a game vs Lakers, they don't. I hope they drop down to the play-ins.

Probably can eliminate the Lakers from the list of teams anyone is likely to catch.

Now the question is....who wants to win enough games to put themselves in a position to play them. I don't like the idea, but it sounds like something our locker room and front office would rally around. I think Jimmy wants the smoke too (that would be the best-case scenario).

Four teams are within one game of each other and all have complicated tie breaking scenarios. You at least want 6th and might accidentally get 5th. If you try to manage you could win up in 7th, and between lack of rest, possibility of injury in the extra game/s, and the variance of a single game with high stakes, no one wants 7th when 6th is on the table.

Win tonight and pull back ahead of LAC and either pass GSW into 6th or tie Memphis for 6th.

I see GSW losing at least a couple more games with their schedule. LAC is going to pull ahead with their easy schedule and will come down to last 3 games with HOU, SAC and GSW. They got a big win at ORL last night. Wolves need 3 big road wins - @DEN, @MIL, @MEM. Lose two more then we are lock-in @#8.

I saw DEN was 5-5 in their last 10, and was curious. We aren’t the only team who is capable of losing to bad teams.

DEN has losses to CHI, POR, LAL, WAS and MIN
DEN has wins over UTA, MIL, HOU, GSW, and LAL

We want to be in a three way tie with the Clippers involved and we also need to beat Memphis when we play them...

Reid And Divo out tonight against Denver.

Should they / could they appeal the suspension and sit out vs Brooklyn or Philly?

With the logjam at 8 to 5, we need all hands on deck v Denver.

We are 3-0 against the Clippers and the Clippers are 3-0 against both the Warriors and Grizzlies. We also will have a better conference record than all three teams. We need to stay tied with the Clippers to win the three team tie-breakers...otherwise we lose the three team tie-breakers.

Except they do that less often and will likely end up as #2 seed. They also had a bunch of injury with Murray, Jokic, and Gordon.

The Clippers could lose to Dallas. The have Gafford and AD back and Lively is expected back this week. We want to stay tied with the Clippers or ahead of them. I also think Memphis will lose more games and I think they will be in the play-in game. It wouldn't shock me if the Clippers and Wolves finished in the 5th and 6th spots.

Naz and Donte suspended 1 game from the DET fight, and will miss this game.

Maybe they should protest, and miss a future game?

I would, but I don’t know if that could spill into the playoffs? Do you happen to know about their rights in this situation?

Interesting thing I just noticed. It probably won't affect us, but it's at least worth pointing out.

Assuming they stay ahead of the Warriors, the Lakers will win any potential ties they may have, by virtue of winning the Pacific Division. Same outcome for Houston in the Southwest, for example, if they are possibly tied with Denver.

Might as well get them over with tonight. I don't think the league will be rescinding the DDV suspension, so he should sit out tonight. If we think there is a legit chance the league would rescind the Reid one, maybe.
