Winning game 1 is nice, but this team cannot for one moment in any series let itself get comfortable. Once we get comfortable we take our foot off the throttle and then we end up with their foot kicking us in the a**. We need to treat each game like a must win, and we need to maintain the intensity and want to in order to win.

I agree that we still need to play like we are the underdog, but that was a Wolves team that wasn't as good as we are now and a Memphis team that was better than this years LAL. Denver last year was also a much better team than this LAL team.

Yes and no. This Lakers team is not well constructed because it was not built around the talent it now has. That failed trade would have given them size, and in the offseason they will make significant balancing moves. That said, they are dangerous because they have shooting. We saw in the first quarter what can happen when they get going and we struggle to keep pace. I also expect their defensive intensity and scheme to improve. I agree we are more talented team, but I wouldn’t dismiss them as just another Phoenix. Comparing 25 Lakers to 24 Nuggets, I would take Reaves over MPJ, 40 year old LeBron over 23 Murray, and DFS over Gordon for these matchups (can space better and more consistently.)

Interesting what Teague said in the beginning after his prediction. Will it pan out that way??

Could very well be true that the refs screw us. But it is also true that we avoided the three headed monster of Malloy, Brothers, or Foster’s crews. Those crews love to *uck us and our win percentages with them are not great (I saw it last year but don’t remember more than they were unusually bad.)

Nice to have Kevin Harlan tonight

Hated the first question though. “What’s it like for a lower seed to get a win against a higher seed?”

We lost a total of one more game!

I have better audio volume on TNT than FDSN tonight on my phone, so TNT it is for now....

1-4 from the line, not shooting well, and missing open shots. Not to mention the defense is… unenthusiastic. I keep reminding myself “it’s the first quarter. Just relax and breath through the first quarters.”

We knew they will play hard. For the moment, we don't have the answer. Hope it change.

The lazy, sloppy, arrogant Wolves came to this one. Not enough physicality, hustle, off ball movement, or really want to. We are failing in every area. First quarter or not this is just not acceptable.

Terrible start, Minnesota is going to win the non-Luka minutes by a substantial margin. The Los Angeles Lakers have come out with a lot of defensive intensity to start this game.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
