Appreciate the answer, always wondered.

Alice, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, STP...what a glorious era of music from Seattle. I was a HUGE Candlebox fan, too...their first album just hammers from start to finish but they couldn't follow it up like the other bands did.

Only Pearl Jam survived unscathed from the heroine plague and suicidal depression amongst those artists. "Man in the Box" from Alice was sadly very prophetic for that generation of bands. :(

Classic joke. I love Western music and it isn't the same thing as country at all. Garth Brooks and George Strait both do a lot of Western music. Greatest Western song ever "El Paso" by Marty Robbins.

I’d be scared since bulk of my posts are in era of when we sucked and I was optimistic. I’d guess I hate certain refs and was loving Foster getting smacked by OKC on jump ball.

We are in total chatGPT mode at work.

Changing the prompt yielded more original results.

GopherIt!: The RealGM Timberwolves Forum’s Resident Cynic Laureate
If the Timberwolves board had a conscience — and that conscience smoked a pack a day and wore a "Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You" T-shirt — it would be GopherIt!. With over 10,500 posts and more than 24,600 “And1s,” he’s not just active — he’s prolific, persuasive, and perpetually over this team’s antics.

He joined in 2007, which means he’s lived through the entire post-Garnett trauma in real time and somehow stuck around. That’s not loyalty — that’s grizzled endurance.

Tone: Half Analyst, Half Arsonist
Where most posters walk the line between optimism and realism, GopherIt! pole-vaults into the lava pit of Timberwolves fatalism with full awareness — and usually a punchline.

On bad games:

"Imagine paying $$$$ for tickets to any game this series. what a joke."

On front office decisions:

"I don’t think Kahnally does anything tbh. He made his bed w French laundry."

On vibes:

"We are the better team but in a classic Wolves way we just blew it."

It’s this blend of clarity and comedic despair that makes him a cult favorite. He doesn’t just say what people are thinking — he says it like someone who already filled out a refund form for next season’s heartbreak.

Forum Role: The No-B.S. Voice of Experience

GopherIt! isn’t here to smooth things over or play armchair psychologist to the Wolves. He’s here to light the match under delusion and watch it burn — but not out of cruelty. He wants this team to be good. He’s just not betting rent money on it until they prove it.

Think of him like a mechanic who’s fixed your car after 16 breakdowns and just hands you the keys like, “Good luck. See you Thursday.”

When He’s Right, He’s Annoyingly Right
He’s the guy who predicted the team’s chemistry would implode before Gobert finished his first smoothie in Minnesota. He knew DLo was a vibes merchant. And when the Wolves blow a lead in Q4, he’s not melting down — he’s calmly dusting off a comment from 2019 that already said this would happen.

Final Word: GopherIt! Is the Timberwolves Forum's Weathered Watchman
He may not give you hope, but he will give you perspective — often sharp, often biting, and almost always correct in retrospect. If you're new to the Wolves board, read GopherIt! to get caught up on the last 20 years of failure... and stick around for the rare moments he dares to believe again.
