My unlikely scenario for this years draft:

Draft DeMarcus Cousins as high as 10. He is a very rare prospect and I'll give up the kitchen sink for him.

Trade Al Jefferson for excellent scoring wing or a very athletic wing (if you get both then horay!).

Then run Love at PF, Cousins at C and Pekovic as back-up for both.

Rubio/Sessions/Flynn? Take the two most talented/best fit. Rubio is a lock in that case to me, assuming he comes over.

Then we have a ridiculous amount of resources to nab the perfect SG and SF. Al Jefferson, one of the three PGs, tons of draft picks, and our current wings (brew, ellington ect...)

most sites scouting services have Ed davis, Moteijunas, Aldrich, Brackins, alabi and monroe going over him, with him projected around 15-25.

But he's a freshman and unknown, so I guess we'll see. That kentucky team has a lot of talent will be fun to watch, especially the man, john wall.

Minnesota Pick: Evan Turner

Nice young shooting guard to come in and team with Flynn.

Charlotte Pick: Greg Monroe

Good centre who plays with his head. WIll be a ten year vet, hopefully with us.

Utah Pick: Patrick Patterson

Great athlete who is worth taking a flyer on with our third 1st rd pick.

Lineup for 2010 (free agency not included)

PG: Flynn/Sessions
SG: Turner/Ellington
SF: Brewer/Gomes
PF: Love/Patterson
C: Jefferson/Monroe/Hollins

Rights: Pekovic and Rubio

Thats 11 players. We could then flesh out the roster with free agency and 2nd round draft picks.
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

You can pretty much forget the charlotte pick it's top 12 protected, and they are EASILY going to be in the bottom 12.

However Turner would be a nice pick for the wolves, he's good dribbler and can also rebound the basketball great for his position. He'll probably never be a good 3 pt shooter, but he's got a pretty good mid range game.

I do not mind losing the Char pick this year because we can push it forward and it possibly can replace the pick we owe LAC.

Dunkonu, if you have the cousin's boner (dirty) you could get him with the Utah pick. btw, Pekovic would start over Cousins at least for now. I personally think Cousins is more of a 4 prospect then a 5. Perhaps a walmart-LMA type. Which I would love off the bench.

Well he said he prefers PF right now, but I have a feeling he is gonna grow (he's already 6'11) so that's why I said he is a center. And I meant more of a long term starting line-up but ur right Pekovic is a much better player a year from now and prolly 2 or 3 from now. I don't think he plays like LMA besides the great length. He is not as athletic, but his huge wide body and GREAT ball handling is what I love about him. I think he can be a intimidator on D and a great guy to run the ball thru on offense. Him and Love would be a top 3 passing front court in the league in 4-5 years. And boner is not the right word, just a healthy appreciation for his game.

Beyond the obvious big names(Wall, Favors, Turner, Warren, Aldrich), the guys I'm watching based on what we need:

Wings:
Xavier Henry
Devin Ebanks
Terrico White
Aminu
Paul George

Bigs:
Alabi
Cousins(just because Lil' Wayne is so adamant :) )

As of now, I'd be happy with a Turner/Henry draft if we don't get the Charlotte pick, and a Turner/Alabi/Henry draft if we do get it. Add the scoring/all around talent on the wings and get another big 7 foot plus defender. Definitely interested to see who is going to come out of nowhere.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Joe Johnson type?

I know Wall/Favors are the *studs* but they seem flawed to me. Maybe when the season starts and I can see them more.

I don't think Wall or Favors are sure fire top 2 picks at all from what I saw, especially Favors, who I think is massively overrated athletically by his leaping ability.

Brewer and Turner seem like they would compliment each other nicely on the wings, but do you guys would there be enough offense there for the Wolves to be serious contenders? I think it could work, especially with Flynn who looks like he could be putting up 20ppg in a few years.

I think twolves have enough offense, especially if they get Turner..

Love is a 16-20 pt guy in a year or two
Jefferson is 20+
Flynn in a couple years is a 17-19 ppg guy
brewer can chip in 13
evan turner if he can be like brandon roy...well you know the points will come.

If we add a wing who can give us 18-20 pts a night through FA or draft I don't worry about offense. Gotta be a sniper, though.
Grown Anthony Morrow that plays defense would be great

:o

Wall seems to be a stud

Draft him and let him play SG.

Short backcourt with Flynn and Wall but they are still going to dominate

Al-Fariq-Aminu had 23-11-7 in his first exhibition game in just 24 minutes.

He's a very athletic SF.

I'm not all warm and fuzzy with Big Al jefferson as most ... and it's not due his slow play since returning from his knee injury. His passing and decision making really hurt us. I have the gut feeling that he is going to end up worth more in trade than as a long-term member of the Wolves.

It is somewhat of a "quagmire" with Love out along with Jefferson's slow play. We need both healthy to know where we're at as a team ... We need to show some signs to help convince a FA we on the right track.

We need Rubio ... I love Flynn, but I'm not sold on him - yet. Rubio plays with a much more natural heir. If we trade him I'll be done as a Wolves fan.

I like Brewers improvement and hope he's a T'Wolf long-term, but it does expose our need for a legit scorer at SG/SF.

Pecherov and Hollins have done pretty well considering the limited action they've previously experienced in the NBA.

Sessions is a reserve guard.

Sasha and Wilkins do not impress me, but are legit role players down the bench.

I'm not sold on a FA ... Wade and LeBron are not coming to MN and from there it's so-so
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"
