There are people that don't performance as expected in USA and in Europe is a great player, but it's not law neither. And in the other hand, for example, the year before Rubio went to the Wolves he was benched many times and played poorly, and then went there and many people felt in love with him.

I think it’s important to remember that not all foreign basketball is the same. EL is the best of the teams from the various domestic leagues. Thus, the best non-NBA league in the world. They have fewer games, so I think there is more strategy for each game (game planning) than the NBA. It is slower paced thus less athleticism based and more skill based. I’d also say it’s more physical, as in I don’t think they call as many ticky tack fouls.

Like all leagues, it is several notches below the NBA. But don’t compare it to the NBA. Compare it to all the other leagues in which prospects (like Bolmaro) are playing. It is infinitely better than the NCAA for example. It’s also infinitely better than the Australian league (which is also better than the NCAA), where LaMelo was up and down last year.

I have to admit that have never seen a NCAA, Chinese or Australian game. I have only seen NBA, ACB and El games since I live in a city near an ACB team.

You could also mention that Efes or Barcelona would beat T-Wolves in a 7 game series with FIBA rules.

With Bolmaro, what’s amazing is the improvement that he has had in the last couple of months. He really earned his minutes with hard work and is doing great. I really see star potential in him. He’s talented, works really hard and is a fierce competitor. I’d really try to give him an important role right away (of course behind KAT, Russell, Edwards) trying to get his full potential as soon as possible.

Just saw this article. It is an opinion piece so take it with as much salt as you like. At the same time I like the perspective so I figured I would share it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/zonecoverage.com/2021/timberwolves/leandro-bolmaro-is-set-to-break-out-at-the-tokyo-olympics/%3famp=1

When Minnesota media talk about the Wolves' space under the tax all of them include Bolmaro's contract. He's coming over.

I like to think Minnesota's 2021 draft is
First round - Bolmaro
Second round - Wright.

I'm cool with that.

Good, because certainly need him to take over some of Rubio's off the bench playmaking duties as guard. Will exciting to follow his progress with us.

I'm starting to wonder if Bolmaro will play for the Wolves next season. The team did nothing this off-season to relieve the logjam on the wing with Edwards, Beasley, Nowell, McDaniels, Okogie, Culver, and Layman all competing for minutes. Bolmaro may look at the roster and decide he'd be better off waiting another year. Also, Bolmaro isn't playing in Summer league and the team isn't promoting him. I'd think with the team doing so little this off-season they would be making a lot more noise about Bolmaro if he was actually coming over.

He was pretty underwhelming offensively in the 5-6 games I saw him. I don’t think he’s ready for NBA rotation minutes. Maybe the front office is realizing he’s better offer developing overseas with a bigger role there than riding the bench here with some g-league games and eating away at the first year of his rookie deal.

It is seemingly less likely he is coming this year.

Which is fine. He would fit better and help long-term planning more next year anyways. Being unable thus far to move one or both of Culver and Okogie sealed his fate I think. Maybe this changes...

Summer League was always an unrealistic expectation coming off being at the Olympics. The only guys really guaranteed time in that group are Edwards, Beasley and McDaniels. Bolmaro will be no worse off than any of the rest, and I think is still positioned well.

I agree. If anything Bolmaro has had more than enough competitive basketball to keep his skills sharp and showcase his game. My question is when can we likely expect an answer on whether Bolmaro will come this year? Is there a deadline, and if not when do players usually announce one way or the other?

That's too bad. March madness is the best basketball around. Those kids play their asses off, and know there can be only one winner. Emotions run sky high. Ever want to see a grown man cry? Watch March madness.

Is that too late to play in summer league?
