Re: Preseason thread
As a team the Wolves have been a step or two slow on defense all night. The Bulls are getting a ton of wide open 3s and are not missing them.

Re: Preseason thread
I'm all for Ant upping his 3pt volume, but chucking 16 3s on a night when he's clearly off is not ideal.

I approve the message but want to work on the wording. “Did someone hear a lawn mower?” Or how about “Why not Minott?”

Re: Preseason thread
I really don't think Garza is supposed to be coming out to the top of the key when the Wolves are playing zone.

Re: Preseason thread
The game being decided by the final shot isn't bad on a night when Ant/Donte combined to shoot 6-29 on 3s.

Re: Preseason thread
Really hope Ant can learn to contribute to other things on offence when his shot is this bad in a game...

Re: Preseason thread
Pré season games mean nothing , im not worry at all ! But we have some work to do in défense. Kat was really good last year in défense following his teammates. Randle seems really bad but he need time and it’s his first game. Not sure he should start until he is moré confortable. Naz is a better option for starting the season on my opinion.

Does he need to learn? Do you think he was useless without his shot last year?

Re: Preseason thread
So with Naz out the first sub was DDV for Conley. Jaden and Randle came out for NAW and Minott at the same time. Minott and Ingles seem to be fighting for 9th man. RD and TSJ didn’t see the floor till end of game. Points to the rotation, but does not guarantee anything. Especially with a back to back tomorrow.

Minott will be 9th man no doubt about it, Finch was glowing about him and he’s balling in pre season.

DiVincenzo is 6th man, if for no other reason than that Conley will play less than any of the other starters.
Naz will be next man up, followed by NAW......for now. If NAW stays cold, I could see them lean bigger with Minott and/or Ingles.

That is a big win for our depth. Minott will improve the more time he spends playing in scheme and developing chemistry with these core players. Getting him competitive minutes without significant drop off allows TSJ to ease in and spend some time in the G working on his corner 3.

Re: Preseason thread
It is a crazy story of this offseason, but Minott looks better than Pat Williams who signed 90/5 contract. This team rotation is deep.

Minott just never had a real chance to strut. I do think he improved his shot and mindset in the offseason. I just wonder if all roads lead to this version of him. I mean even in college he barely played, and Iowa isn’t exactly a top team surrounded with mentors for JM. This is the best growth environment, and nothing replaces real defensive experience.
