How do you let Caruso score 6 points on wide open layups? What a frustrating loss

Jalen Williams was literally bricking wide open shots in the Nuggets series and now the dude has found his shot...honestly an extremely frustrating loss. Shot extremely well but the turnovers and giving up nearly 20 offensive rebounds is just too much to overcome.

Hard to lose the way we lost.

The bench outscored the starters. I don't recall ever seeing that in a playoff game. Our starters were outscored 101 to 62. OKC deserved to win.

I've hated our mix since day 1.

This was our shot.

Going to be looking at Thunder vs Spurs WCFinals for the next 5 or 6 years unless we can strike gold in the draft or trade market in the near future.

Rough. The Thunder played as well as they can and we were somehow right there at the end.

Sours are just hype right now. Let them crack the playoffs first

Shooting is a momentum game. You give a professional a couple of easy looks and that's all it takes for them to get their confidence and catch fire.
Also almost every shot he took was a wide open catch and shoot or a jumper from one of his kill spots.

The number of times Caruso and holmgren scored with no defenders on them near the basket will keep me up for the whole night. ****

The Spurs still have a long way to climb. And they don't have the certainty at the coaching position anymore.

If you look at pure talent/draft pick/cap situation they are OKC a year or two ago.

One year ago at this time they were an elite shot creating guard partner for Victor away from making noise in the playoffs, and they will soon have 3 of them, 2 of whom are on rookie contracts.

We have Ant and Jaden, a couple of faded fringe All-Stars and a ton of question marks.

We're in real trouble going forward with getting the right mix. I think the Rudy era is over. We're almost forced to re-sign Randle. Randle is an inconsistent turn-over type player. Poor defender too. He's not a guy you can count on nightly. We're in trouble. We would have been much better keeping Kat and trading Rudy to get under the cap.

The loss is painful but honestly Im not mad. The Thunder are a better team than the Wolves. There's a reason they won 68 games.

The team asks too much of a 23 year old Ant. Hes responsible for initiating the offense almost the entire game because of Conley being washed and not really having another playable creator. I really hope Dilly is much improved next year.

Rudy and Julius went ghost when we needed them most tonight.

I'm flabbergasted how Ant spent most of the game just standing on the wing as a decoy.
It worked out OK because of NAW and Dante throwing flames, but your best player just standing in one spot all possession. WTF.
He made the right plays with the ball for the most part.

It's great we made the WCF two years in a row, but I don't like what TC turned this team into.
This group is not fun to watch most of the time.
Unlike the guys who beat us tonight and will probably win a title now.

Rudy was not the problem tonight. Ant and Randle cant play that passively in such a huge game. 5 turnovers a piece, not boxing out or rebounding, and falling asleep on cutters. Jaden wasn't very good on defense tonight either.

Credit to OKC. They were and are a better team. Every time we hit shots to get it close they shut it down and hit some massive shots themselves. All the offensive rebounds were killers.

Interesting series. We will lose against the future NBA champion so it give us a good idea what we have to do to match.

1/ ANT is not ready yet to carry a team. He may one day but at the moment he is not. He need a good and more consistent player than Julius around him.
2/ We need a starter PG. Mike is great but coming from the bench. He is the only player with high BBIQ but can't score. We need a guy able to score 15-20 every night and we don't have the money for that so we have to find a way.

3/ I will trade Julius at that stage, he is not consistent enough.

4/ I will sign NAZ and NAW if they don't ask too much, if not let NAW go.

5 The last 2 players am in between are DDV and Rudy. DDV is cheap, he bring score but when he is cold, he is not good at all. Rudy is another problem, his offense kill us but his defense is elite. If we can add another scorer ( PG or SF), i will keep him for what he brings in defense, if not i would prefer a big who can score specially at 30 Millions++ per year.

Lot of job to do for TC. Let's have a fun game 5 . Go Wolves!

I guess 1 for 7 for 5 points with 3 assists and 5 turnovers, along with putrid defense and rebounding in the biggest game of his life, must seem amazing to someone like yourself.

You should not try to imagine what a fanbase like Philadelphia or Boston or New York would be saying right now.
I don't think you could handle it.

There is no person who ever thought this was the final iteration of the team. Of course there will be changes that need to be made. Welcome to professional sports.

Something had to be wrong with Edwards, how do you not have any passion or fire this game? Randle is who he is.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
