And on offense, I'm perfectly fine just setting screens and cleaning up the o-boards. My last guy was shooting like 35% from the perimeter, anyways, so I'm not missing out on much.

One pretty funny thing is in all the cut screens, my C is the same size as the PG I created in the previous MyCareer. Like a 7-8 inch difference. It's weird because he's like Shammy's size, but supposed to be 6-11, 260 or whatever.

Yeah you're the same size in cutscenes no matter what

I might be the only person who only plays sport games for single player. Not My Career, that mode is absolute worst. But I love GM/manager modes in these games, its my power fantasy, being a manager, doing trades, its great. I clocked 300 hours of FIFA this year, and I only played 2 online matches, and I did fantasy teem tutorial match, couldn't care less about the rest.

I am thinking of buying PS4 simply because of Ghost of Tsushima now, Spider man looks decent as well. Man they got me, damn first party developers.

Got the itch to run a franchise again. So started up a new My League. Added two expansion teams, Baltimore Barons and Vancouver Raves. I took the Ravens and am trying to tank my first few years to develop some core young studs. Going to try and contend after 6 seasons. Right now I got some former wolves getting big minutes. Mainly Shabazz and Bjelly. Team is actually mediocre as opposed to being terrible so may make more moves to get worse for better tanking. Year one they manged to get the 8th pick. I need to be top 3 range.

I really should have just drafted trash players in the expansion draft. I actually took some people with some good potential. Should have put together a team of all 60's.

Whooooo! We just won the lottery from the 6th spot! Hope there is a future GOAT in this draft!

You and me are the exact same.

I never play the My Career or whatever, but I ALWAYS put dozens, if not a few hundred hours into the manager mode on both FIFA and 2k. I absolutely love taking a crap team and building them up to a champion.

Do you guys play the games? Watch the games? Or just simulate everything?

Sim most, but I change line-ups/gameplans before every simmed game. And for whatever reason with FIFA I don't skip the superspeed sim haha.

I'll play some important games, or ones when I want to try a new player or something out.

I wish there was a good basketball manager game. I often try to sim play GM in 2k, but I lose interest. I only keep investment when I play games, which is not really who I am I think, but thats the game, its just not made for simulation.

Try watching some of the games CPU vs CPU. When I feel like just being a GM that's what I do, I'll watch a game every week on the schedule. Keeps me interested in the league wide landscape and shows me players I might want to trade or trade for.

I'm currently working on finishing a roster of the 1997-98 season to run a MyLeague with the Wolves under the premise of "What if Marbury stayed".

I watch games too, I havent found it as interesting in recent years though. My favorite was college hoops 2K8. I used to get a team NCAA youney ready and then let the CPU play out our tournament games for the next few days and hope I could get a win. That was a lot of fun.

In 2K right now I am looking at the progression screen and I am shocked. A 2nd round player has just up NINETEEN points in one season. He's a superstar now. Wonder how the hell that happened.

There's a glitch with players playing in the G League and progressing ungodly amounts. Diamond Stone is one of the players that frequently benefits from it from the site's I frequent.

Ah interesting. I thought it was some kind of cool feature where sleepers can break out. It was crazy to see.

Technically it is but it's extremely easy to replicate huge jumps in overall like that, although 19 points is maybe the biggest jump I've seen

For the last week or so I have been running my expansion franchise. Getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. The first few seasons I pretty much simmed and spent a long time on the draft trying to find the right players. I purposely tanked hard and set a 5 year plan where after year 5 I would be ready to contend.

In 2K its very easy, especially if you tank early, to rack up a lot of first round picks. Did a lot of deals and by year 4 or 5 I pretty much have first round picks every for the next few years. I will continue to trade them and stockpile so I cant constantly bring in new high end draft picks when my players start to get old. If an NBA team could ever do this in real life, they would pretty much have a constant dynasty, you contend for a title every year while still getting top ten picks every year I usually have two picks in the lottery.

I drafted a lot of euro stach players early on. I see that usually works out nicely. They grow quite a bit over seas and when they come over they are almost always at least decent role players. So around year 4 I started watching a lot of the games. I would either simcast a bunch and jump in if the game was tight or I would watch random interesting full games, I pretty much have had my xbox on running these games for several hours a day and been checking in.

Its been entertaining and I am really getting to like my Vancouver Ravens. My players are starting to take on their own little personalities. In the 2019 season I forced a Lebron to LA trade cause I wanted to see what would happen. They won the title in 2021 and Lonzo Ball became an MVP player (I swear they hype the hell out of Lakers PG's. In 2K16-17 Russell always became an amazing HOF level player. Now they make Lonzo turn into one).

2026 Lebron decides to retire at 38 but I make him stay another season as he was still rated like 94. My team lost their star SF at the start of the season, he broke his ankle against the Lakers. I found a trade where I sent my beloved Russian role player Semenko to the Nuggets for another SF but he seemed like a better fit. He had some great 3 point shooting numbers and he was younger. For some reason the Nuggets wanted Semenko bad and I made the move. Lewis had great 3 point shooting ability but his tendencies were ultra low. I shifted them and he became a really nice outside shooting piece though he still doesnt take as many as he should.

That season I also had a great rookie PF, really high level. Like an 82 out of the gate, pretty much like when we had rookie KAT. Though my team stuggled during the season we did really well in the playoffs and got to the conference finals against LA who kind of fell off after they won their title. I watched every game.

My star SF was back but experiencing back pain issues. What was crazy was you could seem him holding his back after plays and such during the games, it was visibly showing it which I never noticed. My PF had also come back from a big injury around that time but he was 100 percent. All the games were pretty much close but we blew them out in game 3. We wound up being up 3-1. I thought this was our year. Then I watched all the following games and for whatever reason LA kept winning. Got to game seven and Lebron was able to turn it back on. He put the Lakers on his back and beat us in seven games. The series actually got my pulse going a bit, I was invested.

When we lost I was pretty down. We are still super young but that was out shot to take down Lebron on a the big stage. I knew he was going to retire as almost always when you stop a player from retiring they retire the next season. I simmd the rest of the playoffs and the Lakers won another championship. To my surprise though Lebron didn't retire. He's coming back at 39. I get one more shot to take him out in the playoffs! This next season I added Lebron Jr. to the draft class, maybe just maybe Lebron will stay long enough to play in the same league with his son. Would be cool.

Finally got back from my month-long vacation. Now it's time to get back into the 2k scene....

Bought NBA Live cause it was on sale for 5 bucks. Wanted to mess around in Franchise like I am in 2K. Man.... their franchise mode is horrible. CPU never does any trades, never offers you trades, its really hard to put trades together compared to 2K. No scouting before the draft you just go and pick players. Stephen A Smith is the only person on twitter. Its slow and messy to pick out individual games. All in all its a huge let down, I might play a few game here and there cause its decently fun to play but boy, they dropped the ball hard in this mode.

So I'm back into my career....amazing how a player addition at the right position can help turn around the franchise. I've got Orlando at 15-6 right now, with my guy manning the middle. I don't really even have to do anything on offense.....just move the ball and set screens and hit an occasional putback or midrange jumper. I'm averaging only like 4 ppg but still racking up the boards and blocks, even getting myself some player of the game awards in the process.

Sad part is they took a chunk of Madden's franchise mode team to build Love's version. Ultimately they ended up with **** versions in both games
