What if
Payne, Aldrich for Evan Turner and #18 pick. Not sure if we can unload Pek contract as well. Draft long-term projects Isaiah Hartenstein, OG or Jarrett Allen.
We replace Shabazz who can't pass, defend and shoot with Turner who is decent passer and defender. Still wont solve our shooting problems tho'. But maybe LaVine, Jones, Bjelica shooting will be enough for 2nd unit. At least they should be able to provide some ball movement in offense.

KAT/Dieng
FA/Bjelica/OG
Wiggins/Turner/OG
Dunn/LaVine/Wiggins
Rubio/Jones/Dunn

On FA market can be much more cheaper and better options. (Taker, Ingles)

In this way will be better to take Caroll from Raps shorter contract better fit for the team.
If all because of the OG, it's not the price (Turner contract) for the prospect at a young team.

For Turners money we can bring Iggy for 2 or 3 years.

Iggy wont leave GSW to play for MIN. For Turner's money you can have Tony Snell, Shabazz Muhammad, maybe Tyreke Evans. Otto Porter Jr. will get more.

I could see maybe a team giving Snell that money over multiple season, but Shabazz and Tyreke have no chance at that money.

I'm going to catch some serious flak for this but here we go:

Trade Zach to the 76ers along with the #6 (assuming we stay where we are)
for
the #3, Richuan Holmes, 2019 SAC 1st, #37

We get Jackson and Holmes (decent shooter, 4-5 stretch big, who has a ton of energy and plays great defense), and spread out the youth for the future. The kings will still be awful in 2019.

Trade Aldrich and a 2nd to BRK for capspace.

Grab Andre Igoudala FA max him for two years (2/48)

Drop Hill grab Hibbert for 4 mill a year

Ricky/ Tyus / #37
Wiggins/ Dunn
Iggy/ Jackson / Cassipi
Holmes/Bjelica
Towns/ Dieng / Hibbert

2019 SAC 1st

That is a huge overpay. I have suggested here and on TB...

LaVine + Dunn for Philly's 1st (assuming #3). If Wolves can get Holmes or Covington or TLC all the better.

Philly does this cause yes they could draft Jackson. Or best guard on draft board. But they gamble with another rookie. Rather, LaVine is almost a zero bust proposition. If you don't discount him for his injury, and Philly's history with Noel and Embiid and Simmons should not, LaVine is ZERO bust who just so happens to be perfect sharp shooter Philly needs with Simmons. Dunn proving to be more of a non-ball-in-hand guard is also a perfect fit.

That would really be a test of how much Thibs still values Dunn, but even I'd strongly consider that deal.

I would do Dunn plus our pick for Porzingis even if we jumped into the first three picks.

23 year old who put up 3/2/2 on 37% shooting and a lotto isn't going to get back Porzingis.

RC and I know that. Klomp was hopefully just using way-too-strong-for-the-internet sarcasm again.

Trade Ideas thread

Melo and #6 for Aldrich and Hill if Knicks are desperate to move Melo? Wont happen with the NTC but I think it would actually be a solid move to improve the roster. Melo is an upgrade over what we have at PF. He can also play SF...which means we dont have to resign Bazz and Wiggins can play the 2.
Plus we are getting another talent with #6. Melo only has two more years on his contract and doesnt stand in the way of resigning KAT and Wiggins. We are going to have to add salary anyway with Peks medical retirement. And the way FA is right now we are going to spend a crapload of money for mediocre players either way. Might as well spend it on Melo.

I guess the same trade would be available with Noah. But he is injured and under contract for three more years. I'd not consider that one.

I think Stanley Johnson would be a good buy low candidate.

He just isn't that Marquee SF that the piston likely hoped for, I think he's better suited to be that glue guy like an mkg. He'd fit nicely in our wing rotation, especially if we get Issac or markannen.

Knicks aren't trading zingis unless there is something seriously wrong with him.

From trade board...

MKG + #11 for #6/7

MKG is not a rookie and I for one would like to see him get a fresh start with Thibs.

At 11 Wolves draft PFOF.

Towns/Aldrich
Dieng/11
MKG/Bazz??
Wiggins/LaVine
Rubio/Dunn/Jones
That lineup to start season. If LaVine is healthy, Thibs starts him and Wiggins, MKG can play off bench with both as he staggers their minutes--and small ball lineups.

That would really be a test of how much Thibs still values Dunn, but even I'd strongly consider that deal.

I tend to think it would probably cost the pick + LaVine rather than Dunn to get the conversation going.

With a max salary coming either for Porzingis and Wiggins, and lavine probably getting less than that, I would think Wiggins would be involved in a trade for Porzingis. Towns+Wiggins+porzingis in the same roster would take probably 80% of the cap in 3 players.

I don't think there's a conversation to be started unless you want to put Towns on the table

I think the value gap between Towns and KP became fairly considerable this season as Towns continued his development while KP was a big stagnet due to injuries.
