Because Sam Amico is a hack. He's the guy who was trumpeting that Cavs would get Love without Wiggins and proclaimed it was a fair trade with Waiters and Bennett as the centerpiece of the deal. I wouldn't trust what that guy says, he lies a ton. Windhorst is a much less biased and reliable Cavs source.

I was only posting that showing that Wiggins and Taylor actually talked on Saturday.

Yeah I was just answering that guys question lol. But good news for most fans who didn't want Wiggins traded! I would like to wait until the extension is signed first to celebrate

Don't get me wrong....I certainly don't blame CLE for asking for the moon. It's just my feeling that their return will be similar to what SAC received for Cousins where people are going to say, "is that all they got for him?".

sadly the Cousins deal was still a better return than any deal we could send Cle today that doesn't include Wiggins.

No doubt, Oriole. What it all boils down to is would you rather have Jimmy Butler or Kyrie Irving? If we still had LaVine, Dunn and our 2017 1st round draft pick (#&), we would've had plenty to offer for Kyrie without having to give up Wiggins. If we did trade for Kyrie, we wouldn't have signed Teague and we could've used that $19M/year towards pursuing another Wing. Personally, I'd much rather have Butler over Irving and it's not even close for me.

You mean, any deal we "would" send CLE. Jimmy and Towns are also off limits.

Here's an interesting aside: There is some belief out there that BOS offered more for Jimmy Butler, because CHI got mad that BOS wouldn't include one of their top four assets, so our deal was a revenge trade. We may be in the same boat now. Not only is our #4 asset really not so great, but people who want to trade with us may also say, "well if you are going to take your top three assets off the table for one of our top players, forget it!"

well sure; I guess I just presumed that readers would be able to know it was a given that Towns and Butler were also included in the off limits conversation.

Takingbaconback wrote:Suns shouldn't give Jackson in that trade. They absolutely do not need to. Bledsoe/Warren/Chriss or Bender/1st round pick is better than any possible offer any other team is going to make. Wouldn't be surprised if Suns aren't even offering that right now and is trying to get Cavs to take that package without the 1st or a big man.

True. If you aren't one of the four teams Kyrie listed, your chance of him walking in two years is much higher. Heck, it's high for four as well, because if the kid isn't happy in CLE, how much do you want to bet he will be happy and stay with yours? I don't blame PHX one bit for not trading Josh Jackson and perhaps 9 years of control.

I also agree with you that Sam Amic is a hack. Two times in the past, I've noticed him post stuff that is impossible according to CBA rules. Being the nerd that I am, I like to alert national sportswriters when I see these things, and most appreciate the chance to correct things so they don't spread bad information. They can't be expected to know every tiny rule of the CBA, especially when they wear the hats for multiple sports. Anyway, while others generally thank me, or at least correct the piece, Sam was one of the few who just left false information up there.

Minnesota wouldn't have been on Irving's list if Butler wasn't here and probably would leave in 2 years if traded to Minnesota.

Fun fact: In 2016-17, Kyrie Irving's DRtg was identical to Ricky Rubio's.

An anomaly from learning Thibs defense and Rubio starting terribly.

Every other year it's obvious Rubio is a fantastic defender and Irving is terrible.

Irving won't commit past his contract, he is really making it hard for Cav's. China is a great place for his own team.

Talk about watching a guy turn himself into a little diva right in front of our eyes. No way in hell would I offer Wiggy for this guy. Let him be someone else's worry.

I'm quite sure Irving is staying with the Cavaliers now since he announced he wouldn't sign an extension with the team he was traded to. If anywhere he goes, as of right now the closest thing is the Suns.

That's a sigh of relief, but I also didn't think Thibs was that stupid to make a trade as foolish as wiggens for Irving and planing on playing a no defense undersized Irving at the 2
At least with Wiggens u get a size advantage at the 2 and I have alot more confidence with Wiggins correcting his defensive woes then with Irving.
