Because a guy who creates his own offense and offense for others is 10X more valuable than a guy who can only finish lobs and has to be spoonfed. Or the league would be full of DeAndre Jordans instead of everyone looking for Donovan Mitchells.
Volume matters and range matters. KAT and NAZ being able to touch 60% and shoot 3's is much more impressive.

That .658 number looks nice on paper but any 7 foot stiff can get close to that if he's only finishing off passes inside of 5 feet.
How much is that really worth compared to how much you are hamstringing your teammates by being no threat to shoot dribble or pass?

Check out Rudy’s win / loss record and you tell me. He’s a big-time winning player.

With today's win, Finch now owns 6 of Wolves' top 10 highest single game high scores. 4 of those are this season's. Yet another bipolar stat consider we see how this team sometimes struggle to score.

Finch is also the second coach to have two non losing seasons ( hopefully tomorrow I could say two consecutive winning seasons).

That is unreal stats for a 33 year franchise.

We are 17-18 vs under .500 teams. The next worst playoff teams vs under .500 is 12 losses. So, if we're were anywhere close to that like 14 losses, We would be playing for the 4th seed today.

Just wins vs Bulls and POR games alone, would put us in control of getting the 5th seed today. We would be talking about Finch as the best thing since the invention of disposable diapers. Let's give him an extension before it's too late. How great the Gobert deal had worked for us to weather Towns' injury. What a crazy season.

9 of the top 10 players being PF/Centers (and Vucevic 2nd on a horrible defensive team LOL) should tell you all you need to know about the relative value (or lack therof) of that stat. Also big LOL to Mitchell being tied with Gobert.
Nice to see Ant as the 2nd guard/wing on the list though. He gets more rebounds and ST/OCKS than Jaden which will bump the stat.
Doesn't mean he's a better defender though.

If we made our personnel decisions based on overall Win Shares we would be trading KAT and Gobert for Miles Plumlee and Nic Claxton.

The Timberwolves have more 82-game seasons below 20 wins (5) than seasons above 50 wins (4) in franchise history. Just keep that in mind when folks call for Finch's head after consecutive winning seasons.

Yet our draft records don't reflect those below 20 game seasons. We draft like we winning championships every other year.

Oh please, we all agreed going into the season this was one of the most talented teams the Wolves have ever had.

As I stated before, Finch has proven to be an actual NBA coach, however, that doesn't mean he's immune to criticism. Most importantly for him, his tenure followed Saunders.

I will give FInch a pass for this season because Connelly blew up the roster Finch succeeded with last year.

Us being the franchise with the worst winning % in all of pro sports doesn't excuse the massive regular season underachievement.
Most of you were predicting 50+ wins.
The truth is the west was awful this year and basically only 3 teams really earned their way into the playoffs.

I would fire Connelly and his whole staff before I would fire Finch, he's ultimately more responsible.
Finch overachieved last year with 47 wins when no one expected us to make the playoffs.
He deserves another year for that.

Tuesday night's play-in game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers averaged 3.47 million viewers on TNT.

The viewership stands as the second largest in play-in game history, only trailing the Lakers game against the Warriors from two years ago. It was also the second most-watched game of the season on cable, trailing the Lakers-Warriors game from opening night.

Jaylen Nowell played one minute more than Naz Reid this season.

That is 600 minutes too many for Nowell.

Bazz pretty much beat the best team in NBA history all by himself that day.
