Miller/Minott are fun on the defensive end. I don’t think Miller will ever end up being a dynamic scorer, but I could see a rich man’s version of Vando. Essentially a slight bigger Vando with better hands and that can make some shots. That’s a really good player. I was impressed. He also showed a pretty good BBIQ on both ends while still being a teenager.

Minott, I’m not sure. He’s athletic and finishes around the rim. But I didn’t see a lot of other perimeter skills on the offensive end. I was hoping to see some on ball growth I guess. It’s only game one though.

I don’t think Moore is ever more than a really end of the bench guy if he is even an NBA guy longterm.

Miller sure looked the part of a future starting PF/C, wish we had minutes for him, kind of a waste to take a guy if he is ready to play. I guess Anderson is gone next year? I hated the pick mych for this reason our log jam at the 3/4/5 and I don't see him as a 3, and at 5 we are as set as any team could be. At least they are not playing him out of position.

He's got 16 pts 11 rebs, 3 steals, and 2 blks. That's doing it all.

Those are incredible stats that I hope he repeats for us hundreds of times.

I don't think he's ready for major minutes at the NBA level.

He has amazing gifts and a great feel for the game, but this was a lot like Ignite games. No structure and chaos rules.

I'd be very happy if he spends most of the year working on his fundamentals. I think there is a hell of a Pro in him, but I don't think he needs to be rushed into it.

I'd suggest thinking of his NBA trajectory along the lines of an Aaron Gordon.

Draft picks, especially late 1sts and 2nd rounders, are ideally long term plays.
You hope a guy will earn his minutes a year or 2 down the road. With our cap situation, this is essential.
It's a stark contrast to the Nuggets who took 2 guys with 5 years of college experience in that range and guaranteed them 3 years salary because they were desperate for quality depth.

I think its great we don't have to force feed him minutes right away, like so often in the past.
He will get plenty more development in the G-League.
Connelly said he wasn't high on him going into the year, but was really impressed with his development during the year with the Ignite, and that was a big reason he was comfortable trading into the draft to get him.
If he tears things up and forces himself into the rotation, well that's a really really good problem to have isn't it?

I like that he's a natural 4 with the legit traditional size for the position, but with the agility to handle and switch in the modern game.
He engulfed Lidell today and the Pels guards when they went into the paint.

This is a good comp. Needs to bulk up a lot to get there, that's what's helped Gordon transition into being able to defend 4's and 5's.
I don't know if Minott has the frame for that.
What's made Gordon so much better the past couple years is that his game has settled down so much as he's accepted being a role player. He's more decisive, less frenetic.

Kind of amazing how the garbage time minutes in the Game 1 Nuggets blow out affected things.
Knight dogging it, gets cut.
Luka and Minott giving 110% are part of the future.

The hype was too much for the top of this draft.

Are you that big of a die hart Wolves fan or just a die hart gambler (summer in Vegas :D ) - Just kidding, don't answer this one.

I live just under a 4 hour drive from Vegas and hotel rooms and AirBnB is cheap this time of year. It's really fun to not only check out the Wolves players, but your daily ticket covers all the games. It's an event. Celebrities are everywhere. I really recommend you check it out sometime.

Is Britney Ok? Did she get her ticket to the games? Be sure to let the Wolves player know you are KG before walking up to them.

I wonder why he didn’t play at all in the first game??

I was thinking Yat likely to get 2 way or be the 15th on the Gupta Special. Don’t know for sure but think this was last summer game Minot gets minutes. We know he’s a piece going forward.

Well, Gordon started from a heavier weight too....he's not far off from where he started.

Maybe for a different lighter comp, what separates him from Jeremy Sochan?

RIP my hope for Moore as backup PG... I knew he can't create off the dribble, but he is also lacking PnR game...

Long live hopes for Moore as 3&D!

Minott has some ability to pass over heads. This might be a big plus once he can hit open 3s

Regarding non-Wolves:

Scoot and Thompson will be good. Scoot is everything you want in a PG. but I’ve seen him before. Thompson I had not. He can’t shoot, but his athleticism is incredible. He may be the best athlete in the NBA from day one.

Victor will be fine. The skills/athleticism at that size are incredible. He’s still a future superstar. Even if game 1 wasn’t awesome.

Brandon Miller is okay. I think he’ll be good but I just don’t see superstar. Brandon Ingram is the ceiling, but I don’t know if he hits that. Ingram had better physical size/length.

Dyson Daniels: ugh. I was really high on him coming into the draft. I thought he could become an Lonzo Ball type off the ball PG who is an elite defender. He may still become an elite defender but that offense is rough. He has no confidence in the jumper. And with people able to sag off him, he doesn’t have the quickness/handle to get by people. That led him to forcing everything. It was ugly on the offensive end.

Last note, that Rockets/Blazers game was fun. So much young talent. I think Scoot is the best young guy on those teams but the Rockets have so many young guys that pop. Smith, Eason, Thompson, Sengun, Green. If either Thomson or Green can be one an offensive hub/superstar and they get a rim protector, that’s a real core.

There is no way that Ingram is the ceiling. Ingram is longer and a completely different and more fluid athlete and ball handler.

Miller’s ceiling is Tobias Harris.
