I'm not concerned about Naz on the offensive end, 4 or 5.
He's a tweener on the defensive end though, bit small at the 5, not switchable at the 4.

His tremendous work ethic, attitude, and the way he's already changed his body and added so many things to his game are the things that have me optimistic about his future and make me feel he has a lot of ceiling left.

It's easy to make judgements on the present, projecting someone's future is difficult, but it's what the best GM's do better than the rest.

I was amazed how Naz went from doughboy on Draft night to pretty ripped now. He has come a long way since being an undrafted signee.

His body transformation was impressive. The only downside is he might not be big enough in terms of weight to match up against traditional sized centers.

I'm assuming that means that Naz now counts as $13M in salary for next season. It's good to have that piece fixed, now the rest of the off-season gets quite a bit clearer.

I see Naz's role next season as being the primary offensive weapon off the bench. Most teams use a guard to fill that role, but I think he has the skill set to efficiently score on a consistent basis.

Alright! $14 mil a year, works for us, and should be tradable too if we need to.

At 14mil he is the contract you keep. Shouldn't ever be a reason to trade him before at minimum Rudy.

NAZ REID!
Woot! 3/42 with 3rd year a player option.
That's a great deal for both sides. Naz gets some great financial security and the ability to hit free agency in 2 years again.
Wolves get him locked up at about market value for the next 2 years.

Ant and Jaden absolutely love him and I'm really excited to see those 3 grow together.
He was 2nd in the entire league in points per minute after the all-star break and I expect him at minimum to be the lynchpin on our 2nd unit.

He's on a very tradeable contract at an amount that is perfect for salary matching in a trade for mid-rotation pieces, should we need to go that route down the road.

This also makes it easier to Trade KAT or Rudy without taking a huge step back and creating a giant hole in our rotation, should we decide to go that route eventually.

Had he hit the open market I was not at all confident in our ability to re-sign him.
A lot of other disappointed front offices right now.

Next big domino is the decision whether to cut Prince or guarantee his 7.5 mil salary for next year, which comes up the 28th.
If we can't trade him for help in the backcourt, I'd strongly lean to just cutting him and pursuing backcourt help in free agency.
Crossing my fingers on a Prince/TJ McConnell swap Indy could really use a big wing.

After that there is tendering NAW his 7.07 mil Qualifying Offer and navigating his restricted free agency.

According to hoopshype, McLaughlin's deal for next year became guaranteed on the 20th, and Knight is only guaranteed for 380k.

I would also really like us to re-sign Luka Garza to a minimum deal for next year, he's earned it.

One question I have is when is Naz trade eligible?

He's technically signing his extension in the 2022-23 season and my understanding of extensions is that the player is then not able to be traded until the end of season (which is less than a week away).

I don't think there is any chance Naz is getting moved this off-season, I'm just curious as to what the actual rules are.

I almost think it is 30 days...60 days? Can't remember, but I thought it was something like that. It allows him to be traded sooner.
