I have been thinking about Fournier and one thing crossed my mind: we had Shake Milton who failed here. Is Fournier similar to Milton in terms of role we would ask him to play? I.e. team offense elevator. I think that last season to carry MIN offense on shoulders you MUST be dynamic shooter and scorer, because of non shooters Gobert, Anderson and strictly C&S shooters such as MCD, Reid, Towns, NAW. So basically Fournier would fail for the same reason Shake Milton failed: Fournier is not dynamic enough.

The other thing is that by bringing here another defensive minded guy such as Dennis Smith Jr, we would create the same non shooting environment for Dillingham: he would be the only pull up shooter. So my idea would be signing Joe Ingles and Troy Brown Jr. and NOT bringing another defensive minded wing. We have enough defenders on perimeter in McDaniels, NAW, Clark and hopefully TSJ, bringing here Troy Brown Jr. would allow Finch to be flexible in offense and defense. We should not "protect" Rob by bringing another guy who wont shoot. Instead insert a creative wing such as TBJ in rotation. I think TBJ creativity and swag separates him from Shake Milton type of players. He is an average defender, but he is active, big (for SG) and athletic.

Another guy who I would target is Joe Ingles. And my reasons here are: first, his experience with Gobert as part of high level offense. Second, I want Miller/Minott/TSJ to get as much knowledge from veterans such as Kyle Anderson or Joe Ingles. And if we want to invest in their development AND give them actual playing time / opportunities / reps, then Ingles might be a perfect candidate. Kyle Anderson averaged 23 minutes per game at PF/SF/PG, he is a valuable piece of our success, and replacing him with 37yo Ingles means that we should give 10-15 minutes per game to unproven young guys such as Miller/Minott/TSJ/Dillingham. But I think TSJ/Dillingham accelerating development alone is worth the risk. Last season Ingles averaged 43.5% from 3pt and 8.6 AST per 100 possessions. I would say it is exactly what we need: low profile, highly efficient role player + steady veteran presence. And it might sound funny but Slo-Mo Joe still has swag. Even if he looks like 50yo IT manager

This could be a way to get another guy into the system on a Gupta special. I don’t know we’re the right organization for him, however; he falls into the maybe too small for center but not good enough shooter for PF. And we already have a young guy trying to develop in that role in Miller.

I've posted about Collin Gillespie a few months ago, but I've read only joking answers. Is he a Kolek caliber of player?

I'd be pretty underwhelmed by signing him. Denver desperately needs cheap guys and he can't find a spot there.

You got joking answers because he sucks. He's nowhere near Kolek. He's basically a worse version of Cam Spencer, who went 53rd in this draft and realistically isn't an NBA prospect himself.

Just not worth it.

The list of free agents this year as a whole is very underwhelming. Even former high picks who flamed out, slim pickings.

Nuggets lose KCP. Hopefully we see players going east and weaken more WC teams. George seems like he's going to 76ers as well.

I wonder if we lose out on 3rd string point guards they just roll with what they have until the buy out market heats up during the season.

I'm curious to see Fournier in Olympics, in his career he has been a player that could operate in half-court, most of his offense was pullups running pick/roll, could get his own shot in the past

but he's been a NBA ghost since 2022. He's only 31 so its hard to know if he just fell off a cliff or was simply not a Thibs guy and was displaced by pretty decent younger players on the Knicks last couple seasons. He's looked about the same in international play, he was still France's main offensive cog

as I said before, I thought Brown jr is decent, would still probably prefer him to Fournier if given a choice, but Fournier is way way more skilled with the ball if he still has anything left in tank

A lot of interesting FA decisions happening. PG leaving LAC, CP going to SAS and Klay leaving GSW. I think there is a PG for Wiggins+Klay trade in the making, otherwise, both those teams could start rebuilding. If PG goes to PHI, that will create a big mess for the western conference. I also don't think GSW has the asset to trade for LaVine or Markkanen.

We might not see much movement for the Wolves until the dust settles in a couple weeks and the guys in the vet minimum market start playing a game of musical chairs.

I think Klay ends up on the Lakers or Clippers for the MLE, but he's not going to be happy about it.

Lavine is bad salary at this point in time but someone might get desperate.

Naji Marshall is a really nice under the radar signing by Dallas.

Good defender, has some playmaking chops and took over half his 3s from the corners last year and hit 42% of them. And I believe Dallas led the league in corner 3PAs.

Well, as two-way material he is exactly what our gleague team needs: he can shoot, he can pass and he is smart. I wonder who in MIN FO thinks the same

This is a question not in any way a suggestion. What about Omer Yurtseven as a backup C?

Hard to reconcile this with the the claim that RD and TSJ might get rotation minutes and roles.

“ "We want to retain our guys," President Tim Connelly said last week. "That's our goal. We want to retain our guys. Now, the market will impact that, but I'm a believer that if you have a good thing, you keep a good thing. We'd like to come back largely looking the same, maybe a little variance at the end of the roster with these new draft faces. But we really like what we have and we like what we're building, so I think the more guys we can get to come back, the better."”

Maybe Gobert can help facilitate Batum signing while playing for France?
