Re: ALL RUBIO TALK HERE
He said he is happy, the possibility to go back in Europe is minimal since Nba is his dream...BUT he also said he hoped to know where he was going to play right after the draft..
If he doesn't know it means he doesn't want to play for MInny.. this is pretty clear consequence to me. If he says he wants to play in the Nba now and the chances to go back in Europe are minimal.... and then that he doesn't know where he will play.. it appears clear MInny is not the place he wants to be.

People do not understand Curry's reason for wanting to be a ballerina. He wanted to be able to contort his body to be able to fit in the fridge.

How the hell do you get that from what he said? He's not sure of where he is gonna go because of his buyout situation. Maybe it is resolved this year, maybe not, he is unsure of if he will be in a Wolves uni this year or next year or in 2 years. The reaching has gotten beyond Mr.Fantastic proportions.

He implied nothing of the sort. It just sounds like he's worried that he might be traded. The Flynn pick probably concerned him in that respect. Obviously he's hearing all the Knick's baloney (bs controversy that sells newspapers) and it's having an effect on him, since any Minnesota media (not trading him, etc) is not going to make it to Spain.

I really don't think the buyout situation is the real problem.. he said also in the draft night he was confused, cos Minny took another playmaker.. If the buyout is the problem.. why just don't simply say it.. and tell, he'd love to come to minny??? He looks embarassed when talking. He is just trying not to offend anyone at this point, but it appears clear he is not confortable with the Wolves.

Oh knicks fans. So much hope built up via ESPN.
Did I mention the Knicks are one of the few teams that I wouldn't swap rosters with in the entire NBA?

revprodeji wrote:Thanks KWSN. Rubio as a 20 yr old works fine for me. RUbio said that if he does go back overseas it will only be for his current team. Is he lying or was he misquoted? Also, what do you know about his father? Some people say he is the scary controlling type. I am excited about Pekovic and Rubio as well. Real Madrid would be a great chance for RUbio to grow with the coach, but where are you getting those figures from?
I jump on that guy precisely for people not getting misinformed. That offer isn't real. It's only in his imagination. He won't provide you any link because it doesn't exist. There's probably an offer to Rubio from Real Madrid, but it would be for a lot less money.
About Rubio's family, it's difficult to say and there are rumors everywhere. His father used to be an agent (I presume a very small one). But some people say that it's his mother making calls lately (along Fegan, of course). She would've dropped her job and focused on Ricky's career.
Actually, Rubio's parents were always considered role models by the Spanish media, but it seems a facade to me.
I think Real Madrid would actually be a very interesting option for the kid. This past season he was too much of a star in Joventut (for example, poor effort on defense), and going to a stronger team would mean a real challenge to him.

I would rather swap rosters with the Kentucky Wildcats than the Knicks.

Re: ALL RUBIO TALK HERE
How does he have poor effort on defense but then get defensive awards?
Thank you for the insight sir. Do you happen to have official measurements for him? Best I have heard is 6'5 with a 6'8 wingspan at 190lbs. To me that means he will fill out and "look" physically like a SG so having a small defensive scoring guard in flynn fits much better than if rubio had to defend the crazy quick NBA pg's.

Ummm..I'm pretty sure we were looking for two playmakers with our 5 and 6. Why would we ever take someone who can't make plays? Also, the kid has the right to be confused!! I'd be freaked out about it too if a team took a player at the same position the pick after me. I think Kahn needs to have a chat with him telling him how he and Flynn fit together. He's confused not pissed off. You keep coming up with lame excuses and twist everything Rubio says to make it seem like he hates Minnesota. It's getting quite old especially considering the amount of evidence building against you. You don't get Rubio...give up.

If he is ok with Minnesota, wy he just doesn't say it?? It is so simple to say he has problems with the buyout but he 'd be happy to go to Minny if he solves the problem.. .
It is not that simple to say he doesn't want to go.. these sports guys, are scared to ruin their image..

Magnus...just because he doesn't say he's ok with Minny doesn't mean it's not true. I don't tell my brothers I love them but I do...get my point? THere's a link to a Rubio interview on page 16 of this thread. No one here speaks great spanish but it sounded as if he's proud to be picked number 5 and is ok with minnesota. I know that's not very credible but it's something. You can think Rubio doesn't want to be here all you want but until you have unspeculative, credible evidence your statements about him have no merit.
EDIT: Did you ever hear Rubio was warming up to Minnesota pre-draft?? I did..

Also, listen to this audio presser with RUbio..it explains A LOT!!!! SERIOUSLY, EVERYONE LISTEN TO THIS!!!!

Re: ALL RUBIO TALK HERE
Well the thing is, he has said he has no problems with Minnesota, in fact, in the article you claim it was clear he didnt want to be here, he said he was far from disappointed in being picked by Minnesota and he was proud.

Come on now, just listen to him he obviously know everything that Rubio is thinking. He even knows more about Rubio then Rubio does.
Have you ever been to Minnesota? 16th larges metropolitan area in the US. It also is the hold the 5th highest standard of living. I'll admit I have live in MN my whole life but, I have been to about 40 of the 50 states and the Twin Cities area isn't as terrible as people make it out to be.

Look at the salary difference between had we traded up to #2 to draft Rubio or sitting on our hands and letting him drop to 5. Its pretty big. I dont think he was anticipating dropping to 5, especially when most if not all mocks had him slated at 2 and 3.
