No Minott pretty much drops my interest by at least 50%.

Because he has 2 quick fouls, maybe?

6 minutes: 4 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 PF.

1st quarter he didn't play...I wrote that post in the middle of the 1st

Minott has flashes of real player!
"...I want to compliment him, we all expected that he would take up the game, we have prepared the plan race on him, we have doubled. And, as usual, he did what he wanted..."

It was probably a "punishment" for being late to practice or something similar.

Absolutely love his upside, but Minott needs a ton of work.

He's getting by on sheer athleticism and drive right now. That won't be enough in the NBA. I imagine he'll spend the whole year in Iowa. WMJ too.

Minott couldn't shoot straight today, but just checking the box score 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and a block in 24 minutes is good stuff.

Are you and WinForLose the same person? . I still think both WMJ and Minott will play in the NBA this year.

Minott will probably spend time in Iowa this season. And that's completely fine and in no way an indictment of him as a prospect or of his development potential. He will spend plenty of time with the NBA club too. That's the beauty of the G League setup these days, it makes it far simpler for players to develop with playing time but yet integrate themselves in the NBA locker room concurrently.

I was telling my father and brother that Minott is like a young V8. It took V8 two years before he got real minutes, but once he did he was ready to take advantage of them. Minott jumps to early on dunks, that is fixable. He takes the wrong angle on box outs, that is fixable. Minott tries to force passes that he shouldn’t, that is fixable. Minott is bad at rolling in PNR, that is fixable. All of his negatives are fixable. At the same time he proved he is a good passer with decent or better court vision (speaks well of BBIQ.) He has the ups that you simply cannot teach, plays with heart and energy, and more. My point is that Minott is an investment in the future, he doesn’t need to be more than that to be a good pick at 45.

Moore is a bit more of problem. I don’t think he has the speed, handle, or athleticism for the NBA. His upside is probably a poor man’s Taurean Prince.

He hasn't shot straight since he made those first two 3 pointers.

He's still just as strong of a prospect as he was after Game 1, but he clearly has a lot of things to work on before he's ready.

Remember, he played less than 500 minutes in college. He's very raw.

The good thing is, he's very athletic, very coordinated, seems to be a pretty smart player and looks to have a very strong drive to get better.

He'll get there. He will.

But people got a little too ahead of themselves after 1 good summer league game when they thought he'd crack the rotation this coming year.

WMJ will be with the team if only for the fact that we don't have enough players.

We have to 14 by the time the season starts. We will find guys who are more NBA ready than him. Moore should be developed as a SG/SF not a PG/SG.

At this point I think he is a PF, sadly.

I hate to agree, but I do agree. He just hasn't so far shown much. However, it's very early. He's just working through things.

With the Rudy trade, the Timberwolves are all in. We will be signing a couple of minimum vets to fill out the roster. Won't rush any rookie in playing time this year unless we are savaged with injuries.

Not strong enough or heavy enough for PF.
